1990 Chevy cavalier is only running on 2 cylinders, My husband changed the spark plug wires and the coil case with no change to cylinders what could the problem be. It is a 4 cylinder and the engine is 1.8

My husband did a compression test and this is what he got: valve numbers: 1-185 2-188 3-185 4-186. The sparkplugs are not wet and have no carbon.

Check the firing order. Might have wires crossed.

Well first you need to perform a compression test, this will tell you right up front of you have major engine trouble be it head gasket, camshaft, cylinder rings etc. First things first what do the spark plugs look like after it has benn running for a while??

2005 Cavalier misfiring on 2 cylinders, dumping fuel

Spark plugs get there voltage from the ignition coil packs, more then likely you have a bad coil pack or coil pack boot, pull one coil pack or spark plug wire or boot at a time, if you see a drop in rpm, that one is good, if no drop bad coil pack.

Just got 2002 chevy cavalier ls check engine light on code is p300 multiple cylinders misfire, changed plugs and wires now says cylinder 2 misfire what do i do

RECHECK#2 SPARKPLUG, PULL IT OUT AND INSPECT THE GAP TO MAKE SURE IT'S NOT BENT SHUT, IF PLUG IS OK MAKE SURE WIRE BOOT IS ON SECURELY, IF THATS OK THEN SUSPECT A FAULT COIL.

Had no spark. Replaced ignition mod, 2 coil packs, and computer. I now have fire; problem is engine will not run, the fuel injector sprays fuel (too much i think). When i unplug the injector the engine...

Check for any wiring pinch which might have occurred when the injector was replaced. The injector is driven directly by the computer, so it seems to point at the new computer as being faulty. (pulse signal is always 'on')

1993 chevy cavalier 2.2l 4 c. sparks and wire order

it fires 1-3-4-2. The coil pack is marked 1-4, match them up with your cylinders, and you're good to go! Cylinder 1 is on the front of the engine, the side opposite from the transmission. Find your alternator and that's at cylinder 1.

1993 Chevy Cavalier 2.2 not firing on 2 cylinders

The reason I'm asking this is because a dual coil fires BOTH plugs at the same time. If one plug doesn't fire right, the other won't either, even to a point that neither does. Kepp the coils where they are and swap the plugs and wires and see if you have a change. Let me know

ignition mod. grounds, pcm or timing belt could all be it but, I would have to look at timing first.
