PO102 and PO340 on 1997 GMC Jimmy

PO102 = mass airflow circuit low. Means there's a problem with the mass airflow sensor or circuit. Could be the sensor is disconnected, dirty, or faulty. PO340 = camshaft position sensor circuit. Could be ground wire disconnection, camshaft position sensor failed, PCM is failing, or even the crankshaft position sensor has failed. Good luck. Let us know how it turns out.

1998 GMC Sierra 2500 5.7L hard cold starts last month, now won't start cold w/o a little carb cleaner in intake. Codes for oxy sensors, mass air sensor and crank/cam position. Drove today, no power just...

starting definately has a lot to do with the crank/cam position sensors, but it wouldnt have nothing to do with hot or cold weather, oxygen sensor will make the vehicle run too rich if its out, you will smell fuel very strong out the exhaust, that could make it run sluggish also, and usually if the mass air flow sensor goes out the vehicle wont start at all...

My truck is stuck in 4LO and it won't come out of 4LO.

Likely either a shifter position sensor, transmission position sensor, or a differential position sensor. Had same issue w/ my Montero and it ended up being one of the 5 sensors on the transfer case. It was pretty tough to get to, so replaced all 5. That fixed it.

Where is the cam shaft position sensor located on a 2001 gmc 5.7 , and also the crank position sensor?

If this is a 5.7L the cam sensor is in the distributer and the crank sensor is in the timing cover

TPS in a 1998 GMC Jimmy

the tps is ususally at the side of the throttle body opposite where the throttle cable / tv cable mount.
sometimes it won't start, run, or run erratically. there are ways of testing this unit (by output voltage) before you commit to buying a new one. to test it you will need a dvom (digital volt ohm meter).

just a note: straight from the book... "a broken or loose tps can cause intermitten burst of fuel from the injector and an unstable idle because the ecm thinks the throttle is moving."
