The right half of the speedometer doesn't light. all other lights and gauges are on. i believe this is a bulb. how do i change this? do i have to take the dash apart and how do i go about doing that.
Yeah its just a bulb all you have to do is find a repair manual for it most autoparts stores have the one ur looking for that way ur not breaking things and taking off dash peices you dont have to take off but ur gonna have to get behind the dash to replace it.. its not hard just time consuming

First you will need 1/4 inch socket set, Philip screw driver, and a plastic panel remove tool. Pry off panels around your instrument cluster . Remove four screws holding your cluster in place , pull forward and disconnect and remove. Replace all bulbs , verify repair then enjoy your day. Good luck
If you want to fix this then you will have to remove the dash fascia and gain access to whats behind the instrument cluster, There are a handful of incandescent bulbs located behind the gauge faces. Replace them and you will be good to go.
Your dash needs to come out. These bulbs push into a plastic piece that "twists" into the back of the dash board. (About a 1/4 turn) Unless you can get at them from underneath, but I think it's to tight.
try turning up the brightness of yo inst panel light should around the headlight swhitch or will be a small nob or button with a picture od a light bulb with lines around

Something similar happened to my 2005. the gauges went crazy! stopped half way or dropped completely down. Like the fuel indicator, speedometer, tach. While I never lost the radio or headlights, I did lose my dashboard lights--pretty creepy at night. My husband did some online digging and found the problem. In the dashboard gauge set-up there is a poor solder on one of the electronic components. He took the gauge center off, popped it open, found the crappy solder, fixed it, put it back in and it has worked fine ever since!!!
the ****--Ford knows about this faulty soldering and since it doesn\'t happen to ALL of the cars--just a select few(even more models we found out later)--they won\'t do a recall. Even if you take it to a dealership for them to fix, odds are they could replace it with an entire unit with the same problem. Your best bet is to fix the bad solder yourself or find someone who can.
you can remove the cluster and buy the bulb separate as far as the brake light it is either the float is bad in the master cyl. or you have low frt brake pads
