OIL LIGHT COMES ON AND STAYS ON - OIL IS AT THE RIGHT LEVELS IN THE CAR, JUST HAD AN OIL CHANGE LESS THAN A MONTH AGO AND ALSO HAD THE MECHANIC CHECK THE OIL SENSOR, IT IS WORKING FINE... ANY IDEAS WHY THE LIGHT CONTINUES TO COME ON AND STAY ON?
Re: OIL LIGHT COMES ON AND STAYS ON - OIL IS AT THE RIGHT...
Well only thing left,if oil sensor is ok,low oil pressure, defective oil pump, oil pump intake tube screen semi blocked or tube leaking causing loss of pressure.

Anything is possible at any time. The current problem could be completely unrelated to the recent work you had done.
The noise you describe sounds potentially serious and getting it checked out should be an urgent matter. I suggest you find a trustworthy mechanic as soon as possible.
There may be a misunderstanding here. Yes the warning light comes on when the oil pressure drops below 5psi. If the light comes on and the switch is working correctly, the oil pressure is not good. Any problem with the pump or the screen would make the pressure not good. If the oil pressure has been checked with a mechanical gauge and it is above 20psi, the switch or the wiring could be faulty. You would need to have the pressure checked to know.
HEY MAN MY FRIEND HAD A AME PROBLEM ON HIS CITI GOLF THE OIL LIGHT GOESON WHEN THE CAR IS COOL ONCE HE DRIVES IT DISAPEAR THE PROBLEM WAS THE OIL PUMP INTO THE SUMP MAKE SURE U CHANGE IT YOUR OIL FILTER WILL BLUST ONE DAY ESPACIAL IN WINTER WHEN YOUR CAR IS COLD
Sounds like you may not have gotten a full amount of oil in the car, or you may have a faulty oil sending unit. Regardless of that though, you most definitely do NOT need to change your oil every month. Do another oil change and make sure the proper amount of oil is put in (the capacity is listed in your owner's manual in the specifications section). Try it out and see if you continue to have this problem. If you do, it's possible that the sensor is bad and is telling you that you have less oil than you really do.
