Dodge neon clutch problem

I was driving and when shifting from 2nd to first, the clutch petal "popped" and is now stuck engaged. I can start the car, but i cant disengage the clutch. All the wires and cables are attached to the clutch pedal.

Could this problem be a broken throw out bearing rod? or the cable pulled out of the rod itself?

Also, is there anywhere online that i can get a schematic for the transmission?

Thanks!

Key doesn't start it but can pop the clutch

check the safety switch . there is a switch that if the clutch petal isn't all the way down to the floor it will not permit the ignition to engage the starter. the switch is either on the floor where the pedal will contact it or up along the pedal shaft. its there. if that doesn't fix it, check the wires to the starter. and lastly the ignition switch itself could be going bad.

Shifter plymouth

Look on the backside of the transmission where the cables attach. If both of them are still connected than they have dislodged at the shifter under the center council. You can have a helper move the shifter while looking at the transmission to see if they move.

2003 Dodge Neon....difficulty shifting, car shakes, cost to repair clutch? only 47,000 miles!

Sounds like you have clutch problems, this can be the hydraulic release system or the clutch plate that is defective, only a trained technician can tell the difference. Most shops will do a preliminary diagnostic for free.

My 2003 dodge neon sxt with a manual transmission will not shift into Reverse

is it grinding when you try? try to turn car off hold in clutch put into reverse and then start car
if it pops right out you need to get it to a transmission shop.
i recently replaced a transmission in an SXT that had no reverse, all it would do it grind and pop back out

2000 dodge neon idles fine but when in gear it chokes. Changed plugs and air filter.

Start the car in park when it is running go to reverse back up 10-15 ft then go to drive if it goes forward but won't shift out of 1st gear then it is a trans mision problem not a fuel delivery problem.

If you have an auto trans, and it is stuck in 1st or 2nd gear here is a link that might help there are 13 parts to the video. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=46VeVdRdkpc&playnext=1&playnext_from=QL

2004 dodge neon has high rpms and no speed

ok i just replaced mine to but you have to make sure that you replace the throwout bearing(correctly)
if this does not happen it is like the clutch is engaged partially all the time and another thing is that make sure no oil is in the clutch pack. i replaced my main engine seal while i had it apart because it was tossing oil into the clutch area.

Good Luck
