Replace headlight bulb

It appears to be a known issue on Saturn. Some say the alarm, some say the button. According to this, disconnecting the battery for a few hours will fix it.

You can also try pulling the Body Control Module fuse first.

How many fuses operate the liftgate of a 07 Saturn Outlook

To replace a headlamp on a Saturn Outlook you need to access it via the wheel well. So jack up the car and remove the front tire. You'll see a collection of phillips head trim screws and plastic snap in panel connectors holding the plastic wheel well in place. Remove the screws and snap in connectors. To remove the connectors, pry the center button up with a small screwdriver. One it's up the whole connector should pop free.
Remove the wheel well.
Turn the black plastic cap on the back of the headlamp assembly 1/4 turn counterclockwise and it should come free. Now the lamp wiring and connector should be visible. Turn the lamp ~90 degrees and it should pop free. Test the bulb. More people have problems with the wiring connection and the bulb is usually OK.

it is most likely a blown fuse,the fuse box is usually under the hood also check the low beam relay,it may also be in the fuse box,if you have a test light see if there is any power to the low beam at the bulbs,if they are H4 bulbs it is the center terminal,also check for any loose wires or connector plugs,,,,,hope this helps......cheers

I have an Outlook that was burning through bulbs. The best way to change it, is to remove the inner fender well and it gives you easy access to the rear of the headlight assembly. It takes about 2 min and no skinny hands required.

I was able to replace this bulb via the wheel well. There were 4 small screws holding the liner on. I was then able to bend the liner back + turn the light bulb dust cover and remove it. The bulb assembly also had to be turned to pull it out. I then removed the wireplug. My bulb was intact + the wire connecting to the bulb was the problem. I simply brushed off some of the carbon residue from the wireset overheating. Then reattached it which worked long enough to buy a new wireset. I am very disapointed I had to do this basic repair on my fairly new outlook 500 miles out of a 36k warranty

This has to be done by pulling the bumper off. More then likely there will be a burned up harness (recurring problem with the 2008 Saturn Outlook) the cost from my Saturn dealership is $185.00 to replace the harness and bulb. Very poor engineering when you have to pay $185.00 to change a bulb.

from the bach, remove small cover then unplug connector, there should be a clip or a round holder twist holding ring in the counterclock wise direction and remove then plug back and light should come rite out,hope this helps.

Hi, I have a 2009 Saturn Outlook and have the same problem. Part of the problem is that they have projector headlamps that do a great job of directing the light to the road but restrict a lot of light output. The solution is to upgrade to "HID" lighting. These cars come with the option from the factory but this can be very costly. I replaced my bulbs with aftermarket HID lights and I can see great! It is like driving during the daytime. I have tried many different brands of aftermarket hid's and have found this company to be the best for the money. Here is the website. www.ddmtuning.com , click on the "hid kits" tab, then on DDM Slim Ballast HID Kit 35W or 55W. Once on this page, go to the right of the page and choose the 55watt H11 bulbs, these are the ones that will fit the outlook. then choose your color, i chose 6000k becuase they are a nice crisp white and give off the most light. the higher the temperature the more blue or purple they will look. **make sure you also order the upgraded harness for the lights, GM uses such small wiring for the headlights now that you may have problems with only one light turning on without this kit. if you call them, they are very helpful and can help you with the whole process. hope this helps, this all costs under $100 compared to over a $1000 from the dealer.

I agree with the other fae90. Tried to remove the light assy, then I read his post and did it inside 20 minutes. Took me longer to put it all back again
