Press the trip reset button until OIL LIFE RESET is displayed then press and hold until it goes out.
Turn the igniton switch to ON, and depress the gas pedal 3 times. watch the light it should go out. sometimes you have to do it, more than once.

on the back passenger side of the engine out of sight unless you under
the car itself

It's a cartridge filter that goes into a canister.You'll need a 32mm oil filter canister socket to remove the cover to access
the filter. You can find it at PepBoys for less than $10 by the other oil
change supplies.
Insert the key into the ignition and turn it to the "ON" position. There is no need to start the car
.
Press the button located in the center of the instrument cluster ONCE. The display should now read "OIL LIFE" instead of vehicle mileage.
