Those signs are more of a personal opinion. I generally use the repair costs vs. value. If the annual repair costs exceed the value of the car, it might be time to replace it. If the car has a bunch of rust and animals are making their home in the rusty wheel wells, it might be time to replace it. If the interior is getting torn and the plastics are getting sticky, it might be time to replace it.

SOURCE: Location of auto trans dip stick on 91 Ford Tempo 4 cyl.

It's right next to the air filter and behind the radiator fan and to the right of the oil dipstick. The transmissions is black and the oils is yellow. If it's a manual, there's no dipstick there. If not check close to the forewall towards the back of the engine.

SOURCE: Front Wheel Bearings for 91 Tempo

You'd have to take the car to a shop, the front bearing have to be pressed in unlike the rear bearings.

I've had the driver side bearing go out, and now the passenger side is GOING out. But yeah, unless you have the machinery at home to do it, you'll need to go to a mechanic.

No fun I know. I've got a 92 Tempo

My factory stereo wont come out of mt 91 Tempo. I have the ford radio removal kit (the U shaped tools). Its completely stuck and wont budge. It doesn't even feel like there's anything holding the radio on...

hi there is a knack to doing this..when you insert the keys into either side of the stereo, make sure when you pull up..that you are also pulling outwards at the same time, this then pushes in the locks that hold the radio in...hope that helps

Problem # 1, try adding some dry gas or water remover to the gas. Have auto shop check fuel lines and fuel filter. Have belts replaced or tightened should eleminate the problem with screeching problem.
