What makes you think there is a relay to be found? I have yet to encounter a heater blower circuit that includes a relay, though some vehicles do have an ignition relay - that closes when the ignition is switched on and energises several circuits.

SOURCE: The heater / ac blower

It is the blower resister. I purchasted one at auto zone for $18.00. It is located under the passenger side dash. You need to remove the glove box and the plastic cover under the dash to expose the blower motor. the blower motor resister is right next to the motor. Simply unplug the resister remove the two screws and replace. I did this and now my fan works on all speeds.

SOURCE: I have a 2001 Chevy

Replace the blower motor resistor. Remove the shroud below glove box, 2 screws and a snap-pop fitting. Be careful of the courtesy light. Remove the blower moter and disconnect the purple/black power connector to it - - you'll need this extra room to work with. 2 more screws, same size, 6.5mm on mine, 7or 8mm on some others, that holds the blower motor resistor in place. This replacement part is less than 40 bones at most parts store. Unplug, replace, re-install, test and you're on your way with about 2 hours of slow paced effort in your own driveway. Typical cost at a garage - up to $400, what a sham.

SOURCE: location of heater blower relay on '92 Accord

If the fuse is good, check to see if there is voltage to the blower motor,if there is,replace the blower motor.Sometimes, not always,if you bump the blower motor,it will start working,if this happens, then the blower motor is bad,if it does not,the fan switch could be bad,but the relay is usally near the blower motor.Testing it with a test light is the best way to test it,ground one end of the test light, the other end has a point on it.Use the piont of the test light to touch all the legs on the relay, with the key on,and the fan on high. The test light will light up,on almost all the legs, but it will also activate the relay when you touch the right leg of the relay, the relay needs to stay plugged up as you do this.If you can not access the legs of the relay, because of a skirt on the relay, push the point of the relay into the wire that you are testing,or into the plug, near the leg of the relay. The legs I am refuring to,are the prongs on the relay. If the relay clicks and turns the fan on,when you touch the right one, then the fan,and the relay are good,it will be the blower fan switch. Now if you already have high, blower fan,and the lower speeds are the problem, replace the blower resister,It is mounted right next to the blower motor, and has about 7 wires plugged into it.

Chevy astro

2 fuses to check, Kevin: in the instrument panel fuse block, 20 amp fuse #12, Htr-A/C. In the under hood fuse block, Frt HVAC fuse, 30 amp.

The new resistor you put in, was it called a "Blower Motor Resistor and Relay Pack" ? It appears there is a relay there with the resistor, but appears to only be used with htr on high speed. However the low speed wiring is also routed through this relay. If it was the Pack you put in, guess that is not an issue.
In the Heater and A/C Control Module is the blower switch. The power in to the control module is a brown wire (from the #12 fuse in instr. panel). With key on should be hot. It appears the brown wire goes to the mode switch and then to the blower switch. Check for power in, and check continuity of both switches. Or check if blower switch has power to it, then check for continuity in it-it should have continuity in all speeds.
If all is good so far, you need to check if blower motor ground is good.
Here can be found a wiring diagram for your Astro. Look for heater controls under the system called "HVAC". Every wiring diagram and TSB for the Astro (or any make, model) can be found here:

Good luck.

I need to know the location of the fuelpump relay on a 1992 chevy C30 van - school bus

Check under hood drivers side under large black cover. *I know that on a 1994 Astro it is located under the hood on the passenger side on the fire wall next to the wiper relay (both relays are little black boxes with a wire plug on the bottom) up above the heater blower motor, I hope this helps, Good Luck.

Heater/acblower fan doesn't work on high. Other fan speeds work ok. what is the problem? It's a 2003 chevy astro van

Hi, check fuse 12 first. If it is good, you will need to replace the blower resistor. The high speed relay is built into the resistor. The resistor is next to the blower motor and looks like the picture below. There is a connector in the resistor and the 2-wire connector coming out of the resistor attaches to the blower. The blower is usually under the dash above the passenger's feet. You may have to remove a kick panel to see the motor and resistor. Please let us know if you have any questions, and thanks for using FixYa.

Cant find relay or fuse for blower motor...1991 chevy astro van

this is common the fuse is located in the fuse box but the common problem with these is the blower resisitor, this is located next to the blower and is screwed into heater box, a quick test is to check for power and ground to blower first and check fuses located under the dash on the driverside. also check under the hood in the engine compartment for another fuse/relay box hope this helps.

Heater blower on van won't come on. Already replaced heater blower and checked fuses.

Check blower motor resistor make sure none of the spring's are broken, resistor sit next to blower motor in housing, also check blower motor relay for voltage, also sit over by blower motor outside of housing and last check voltage at blower motor switch.Hope this was very helpful, good luck.

I have a 93 chevy astro van and the blower fan keeps blowing fuses. the fan checks out good, can't locate the relay which I think may be bad. as I can unplug fan and still blows fusew.

The relay is not your problem or it would blow wheather or not the heater motor was plugged in or not if it was shorted, you need a new heater motor.

Motor heater not working on low and sometimes on high

Blower/Heater Switch Operation: 0900823d8004c694.jpgThis electrical switch, located in a fuse or breaker protected circuit, controls the rpm of the blower motor through a series of control relays and a rheostat. Sometimes the A/C compressor clutch is energized by this switch.
