This is simple when your diagnosing fixing we dont start with fuel unless we no.We need spark to ignite fuel. Not fuel to get spark. And yes we need compression.Ive been a qualified mechanic long time diagnosing faults for other mechanics and my customers.Ive only been giving my time free like some of the other good techs on here. But i must say a lot are costing there selves a lot of extra cost as they dont have a clue.

I have a 94 Buick Park Avenue that won't start, not even try.turns over well, battery good, new ECM, doesn't seem like it's firing. Please help. Any suggestions?

Put a spark tester on the plug wire and see if you are getting fire to the plugs. Check to see if the fuel pump is running when you turn the key on. Check the fuel filter from the fuel pump to make sure it is not plugged. You can put a small amount of fuel in the throttle body by spraying it in and see if it starts. Check the catalytic converter to see if it is plugged.

How can you tell if your car has jumped time? I have a 1998 buick park ave. that tries to start but wont.

check fuel filter and make sure its not clogging up, make sure the engine is getting fuel, have someone go under the car where the fuel tank is and have them listen when you turn the key to on to see if there is any sound coming from in the fuel tank, if not, then you may have burnt out the fuel pump. Fuel pumps are Great for randomly going out at a moments notice. those GM v6 engines dont jump time easily so it more than likely wont be that.

98 tahoe put in rebuilt trans. now no fire to fuel pump wont start blowing fuses

Depending on which fuses are blowing, you may have shorted a wire in the harness to the fuel tank.

1998 Buick Century wont start. It's been sitting for a year. Battery was dead.I replaced battery, drained fuel, replaced with new fuel and Sea Foam fuel treatment. Will start for a second with Starter...

You have a fuel starvation problem, fuel pump, pressure regulator, injectors, any or all of them could be the reason why you are not getting fuel. Someone is going to have to lay hands and eyes on the thing and check it out.

1998 Skylark wont start, but turn over (clicking from alternator) battery fairly new.

Are you getting fire to the plugs?

Are you getting fuel?

"Won't start" doesn't tell me anything.
