I need more details. Please included the most insignificant information. Has the vehicle been in for repairs recently? Is the engine warning light on while it is running? Are all the gauges working properly? If the engine start even if you start it and shut in down, six times in a row? What is the alternator charging the battery at (should be between 13.5-14.5V)? It sounds like you have a short somewhere. The symptoms do suggest a wire or component getting hot or failing as the engine warms up. That does mean that is what it is but it is a possibility. Start with the easy things first. Check as many wiring harnesses as possible. Look for an oil covered harness that is against a sharp (or not) metal surface. Inspect the battery terminals. Are the connections clean and tight? Look inside the power distribution box and pull relays. Sometimes removing a relay, turning it over and looking for overheating or smelling it for the burning wire smell, can help identify the problem and avoid a future breakdown. Please start hear, write back and let me know how things are going. Any questions please ask away. Good luck.

It sounds like there is a problem with the Injector driver module. I have seen this problem a number of times.

SOURCE: Toyota land-cruiser

If the "overdrive off" light is flashing, this indicates an error condition in the transmission ECU.

There is a diagnostics procedure you can follow, but it is a bit too long to go in to here. Try and track down a copy of the Toyota service manual, number RM315E (searching the ih8mud forums is a good start) and follow the procedure in there for reading the fault codes.

It involves bridging the diagnostics connector in the engine bay (facing the front of the vehicle with the bonnet open it is to the right of the engine on the bulkhead) - easy to do...

Wont start and stay running when cold and will not drive very good at all when cold and will stall when stopping. Once temp hits 80 degrees outside runs perfect??

Is the vehicle a diesel? If so the diesel fuel may be waxing up - particularly if the outside temperature is below freezing?

Toyota Prado 2009 diesel intermittently stalls when idlying once heated up

SOUNDS LIKE THE FIRST STAGES OF AN ELECTRIC FUEL PUMP FAILING. THEY ARE NOTORIOUS FOR THESE TYPES OF SYMPTOMS. THE LOW PRESSURE AT THE TRAFFIC LIGHT RESULTS IN THE STALL, BUT AS LONG AS ITS UNDER DEMAND IT WILL FUNCTION OK UNTIL IT QQUITS. HAVE A PRESSURE CHECK DONE ON THE FUEL PUMP

The check light is flashing on my diesel 96 Nissan Largo.

It is better to use a scanner to find the outcome fault code and then you carry on. Do not try to fix on suspicion .

2003 vw jetta wolfsburg bogs on early acceleration

Don't know if it applies to your diesel but most later gas engined vehicles have a 'cold start' valve that supplies additional fuel to the fuel/air mix along with boosting the idle speed until some warming of the engine is sensed.

2000 F-250 7.3 diesel, cuts out runs rough no power

Well, you have to let diesels warm up before you drive them so the engine gets warm and it may not sound right at first because if its not warm the compression gets off and doesnt fire right. If you try to give it too much gas before its warm, extra diesel will get in the cylinders and misfire. Then when it does fire, there is a lot of extra fuel in it so that causes the smoke and smell. You should always let it warm up for a bit before driving when you havent driven it for a while.
