Probably the housing for the filter? Have you tried tightening the bolts on the housing?

Make sure you oil the rubber seal on the oil filter and tighten the oil filter 3/4 of a turn more after the seal is flush with the bracket.

an iol leak can happen to any car, at any time. sometimes gasket s and seals fail, no matter how well the car is maintained.you can start by checking the oil filter if you dont mind getting just a little dirty. just grasp it and turn it clockwise. it doesnt need to be extremely tight. just as tight as you can get it by turning it with one hand. also, do a quick visual inspection under the hood. you might be able to see where the leak is coming from. and sometimes if its an oil line or a valve cover gasket, you may fix the problem by tightening up a couple bolts. If you cant see exactly where the leak is, or you dont have much experience working with cars, I would recommend haveing a mechanic look at it. there is a lot of places that a leak can occur, and depending on where it is, sometimes it may be a bit tricky determining where the leak is coming form.
