A VSC light can come on for many reasons. Rather than ask us to guess which trouble code is stored in your computer, how about getting it scanned so you know exactly which code is stored?

SOURCE: 2005 Toyota Highlander

there are literally hundreds of codes that would turn on the check engine light. the track off and vsc lights come on together, indicating a problem with the traction control system. again, many different items will turn these lights on. the only way to narrow it down is to hook it up to an OBD-II diagnostic tool and find out all the codes that are listed. if you don't have one, take it to a shop

SOURCE: what causes a toyota highlander VCS warning

When your VSC (Vehicle Stability Control) light comes on, it means your car has been forced to take evasive action to avoid a dangerous situation. For example, if you're driving on an icy or wet, slippery road, and take a turn too sharp or accelerate too quickly, the vehicle will automatically reduce acceleration or apply pressure to the brakes to prevent the car from losing control. In this situation the VSC indicator light will light up to alert you that the action was taken, and remind you to slow down - or to be extra careful. Be safe!

SOURCE: My toyota highlander 2002 VSC

VSC is vehicle stability control, there is a switch to turn this option on and off, it could have been bumped, or a wheel speed sensor could be bad, if that is the case you will soon have an ABS light as well and most likely a traction control light

SOURCE: Check engine light and vsc are on in my 2003

I have found that when someone checks or changes the air filter, they disconnect one of the tubes going to the air filter. This triggers the codes to come on.

How to disable trac and VSC in highlander hybrid 2006 model

Disabling the light doesn't fix the problem, you should have this diagnosed by connecting a diagnostic code reader that can communicate with the traction control system, then go from there.

2006 Highlander - Check engine light and VSC light on. What does this mean?

Many possibles, but first check gas cap for torn gasket or just being loose. The VSC light is related to emissions issue and can be leaking vac hose, bad purge valve and other such.

What does vsc stands for when light comes on and what threat does it have on 2004 Toyota highlander

I believe VSC in the warning lights is Variable Speed Controller. It should be dealing with the traction control. If that is malfunctioning your traction control system isn't working properly. essentially what this does is automatically control how your drive train applies power to the drive wheels in order to maintain control of the vehicle on the different terrains it is driven.
