Fuel Filter
The fuel filter is contained in the fuel sender assembly inside the fuel tank. The paper filter element of the fuel filter traps particles in the fuel that may damage the fuel injection system. The fuel filter housing is made to withstand maximum fuel system pressure, exposure to fuel additives, and changes in temperature. There is no service interval for fuel filter replacement.

I have the same problem and have trouble codes 35 and 36. I found out that there is a computer module that needs replaced as it sits low in a valley and gets hot and seperates. I am reseaching about the a/m fix that installs the new module away from heat.

I have been told by a mechanic that the fuel filter is inside the fuel tank. Have to either drop the tank or remove the pickup bed. Access is on the top of the tank. This is poor engineering.

if you don't see it along the left frame rail just ahead of the tank then it is in the tank

There is no longer an external fuel filter. The filter is built into the fuel pump module now.

The fuse is actually a Relay Switch and its located in the Fuse Relay Center on the driverside of the engine compartment. The Black Box is labled Fuse Relay Center, the diagram on the cap displays which Relay is the Fuel Pump relay...the Relay switch is usually $8-$15 depending on where you shop
The fuel filter is about a foot away from the fuel tank on the driver's side of your truck. Just follow the fuel line from the gas tank. It is an inline filter about 4 inch long cylinder about 2-3 inches thick.
