Hi Joan Whittaker,what does no crank mean.
the starter motor is dead? some posters call d crank= running engine.
which engine there? cranks fast but will not start.
underhood fuse box f24 blown?
step 2 after all fuses checked is:
shift to Neutral see if that allows cranking per my red circle below
is PCM control.
is the dash IMMO lamp happy?

as you can see the pcm decides to do the cranking or not
via its starter relay.
if you scanned the PCM it will tell you why it id not start.
immo error OR A/t PRNDL (TRS) ERRORS. OOPS

All modern cars have alarms and immobilizers. There is a chip in the key and a chip in the ignition lock. If both are present, the ECM (engine control module) releases power to the ignition circuit. When you turn the key, the starter spins the engine and you get a spark. If any one of those three items are not in the chain, you get the engine to turn, but no spark. There is no way to beat the system. You have to fix what is wrong, not find a way around it.

You can't bypass the anti-theft system , software programmed into the electronics of the vehicle , namely the PCM - engine computer , if the PCM doesn't see the enable start signal from anti-theft module it's not going to start the vehicle. Nothing you do will work , take it an have it fixed right . You better read this before you totally wreck your car .

It sounds like you have no idea on how to test automotive electrical system's , just replace parts . Your best bet , take it to a qualified repair shop. There are no magical fixes , looking at wiring diagrams an testing electrical circuit's with a DVOM - digital volt ohm meter is the proper way to diagnose automotive electrical circuit's . Plus looking at the instrument cluster for warning light's , SECURITY system - anti-theft etc....Because these will keep the vehicle from starting . Hook up a professional type scanner to see if all the control modules on the vehicle will communicate with the tool . A shorted data bus wire , module etc... will also keep the vehicle from starting . Plus you don't discribe the problem correctly .Turning the key to start an nothing happening is a no-crank - no start condition , turning the key to start an the starter engages an spins the engine over - is a crank - no start .

Is it possible that is the starter relay? I didnt even realize it had one until I started looking online. Where would the starter relay be in the engine ... Having issues with my starter relay.

Testing the starter electrical circuits is how to find the problem . Viewing wiring diagrams to see what all is involved in the starting of your vehicle ? Most vehicles have a starter relay that is energized by the PCM/ECM - engine computer . B+ voltage comes from the ignition switch going through the starter relay control side to the PCM - which will ground that circuit turning on the relay sending B+ voltage to the S terminal on the starter solenoid .

I dont have a diagram, but these have 2 speeds and they are a common problem. the fan will need to be replaced (complete unit)

Voltage drop testing the starter electrical system is the proper way to diagnose . Looking at a wiring diagram to see what all is involved in starting of your vehicle first , so you know what all to test. Do you have any light's lit on the instrument cluster ? Check engine , battery , security etc..... Plus most newer vehicle's (96 on ) the PCM/ECM - engine computer has something to do with the starting of the vehicle. It will energize a starter relay , if it see's the vehicle is in park or neutral an no problem from anti-theft system . Looking at the wiring diagram for the starter circuit of your vehicle i see the PCM does control the starter relay located in the under hood fuse box.
