The fuse marked 'tail' in the fuse panel inside also supplies power to the dash illumination, check the tail lights, if they are not working replace the tail fuse and the dash lights will come back as well.
Check the fuses (#14, I think). If it's not a fuse, check to see if power comes to the brown wire of the headlight switch when you turn it on. If no power, replace the switch.
If no check engine comes up, it would be PCM. PCM must set CHECK ENGINE LAMP when IG on.. Also check other instrument panel warning lamp come up. If not, Main Ampere Fuse must be checked.
JUST WENT THROUGHT THIS WITH MY DAUGHTERS CAR!! WOW WAS GONNA RIP EVERYTHING OUT , I CHECKED FUES!! ALL GOOD, SHE AHD NO HEADLIGHTS, TAIL LIGHTS, POWER LOCKS, RADIO OR BRAKE LIGHT OR HORN, SO I GOT TO THINKING THAT THIS JUST CANT BE A BAD GROUND, BUT DIDNT SEEM RIGHT. SO I GOT A BOOK TO LOOK AT THE WIRING, ACTUALLY I USED THE 1994 VERSION AND IN THAT THERE ARE 2 POSITIVE WIRES COMING FROM THE BATTERY, WELL ONE GOES TO STARTER AND FUSIABLE LINKS THE OTHER GOES TO THE FUSE BOX THAT SUPPLIES POWER TO ALL THAT WE NOT WORKING, WELL FOLLOW THE 2ND POWER LINE FROM THE BATTERY THAT GOES TO FUSE BOX, WELL AS YOU START TO FOLLOW IT THERE IS A PLUG THAT JOINS THE WIRE TO THE WIRE THAT GOES TO FUSE BOX, UNPLUG TURNS HEADLIGHTS ON ANT REPLUG BACK IN. IT WASNT MAKING A CONNECTION ANYMORE!!! Nov 17, 2013
FRED THE REASON I SAID TURN THE LIGHTS ON THEN REPLUG IN , IS THAT YOU WILL SEE THE LIGHTS COME ON AND HEAR THE CHIME OF LEAVING THE LIGHTS ON WHEN YOU PLUG BACK IN. WHEN I LOOKED AT THE DIAGRAM IS WHEN I REALIZED THAT THAT 2ND WIRE SUPPLIED THE POWER TO THE FUSE BOX FUSES THAT IN TURN WOULD OPERATE EVERYTHING THAT WASNT WORKING. WHE YOU UNPLUG THAT PLUG, ITS ABOUT THE SIZE OF YOUR PALM, LOOK AT THE CONTACTS INSIDE AND MAKE SURE THEY ARE NOT CORODE. IF SO BUY SOME CLEANER AND APPLY. I HAD UNPLUGGED THIS PLUG ABOUT 6 MONTHS AGO WHEN REPLAVING THE BATTER AND HAD PUT THE GOOP STUFF IN THERE FOR THAT REASON. JUST THINK IF ALL THAT STUFF IS NOT WORKING AND YOUR FUSES ARE GOOD? YOU JUST AINT GETTING POWER TO THE FUSE BOX WHICH THEN THERE IS NO POWER TO EACH ITEM, HOPE THIS HELPS ANY QUESTIONS FEEL FREE, SINCE I SEE THIS IS AA BIG PROBLEM YET NO ONE ANSERED WITHA FIX Nov 17, 2013
You need to revisit the fuse box ,, there may be more than one ! If you think the dashlights fuse are intact , check by switching on/off the side lights while checking the fuse. The fuse beside the side lights fuse should also be a side light fuse. They are handed LH and RH for safety reasons and check you have both side lights in the front. Power locks may be a dash switch /plug connection. Worst case senario ,(temperarily) remove radio and remove any fault you may have introduced into the system . A small bulb type tester will be a great help ! Good luck
I'm having the same issue. I have changed the bulbs and fuses. I can't find a relay but I don't think that is the issue. Some other people have suggest the Dimmer Control Switch. I am working on that. Please let me know what you find out.
you might need tio check the grounding of course it is possible damage or try to check the fuse it is located to your front pannel board. and the connect from the main source for the supply
If you are SURE that the brake light fuse is good? If so, check the brake lamp switch above the brake pedal, see if it is somehow disconnected. Check for power, at both sides of the brake fuse...and, check for poweer coming into and out of the brake switch (when pushing the brake pedal) with a 12 volt testlight. If the brake fuse is good, and you have power coming TO the brake switch, and not out of it, you need to replace the brake light switch.
OTOH, the brake switch just might need a small adjustement, too...If power is at both sides.
Note that the brake light switch ALSO powers/releases the shifter lock solenoid. You cannot take it out of park without pressing on the brake pedal.
Hope this helps you solve your problem.
