    Door Lock System Controls
The power door lock system is controlled by the BCM and can be activated by any one of the following:

    • A door lock switch Lock or Unlock actuation

    • A door lock cylinder switch Lock or Unlock actuation

    • A keyless entry transmitter actuation

    • An automatic door lock actuation, a Personalization function

    • An automatic door unlock actuation, a Personalization function

    • A last door closed locking actuation, a Personalization function

    Door Lock Operation
When the BCM detects a transition of either of the door lock switches to the Lock position, it switches the door lock actuator lock control circuit to voltage. Since the lock actuator unlock control circuits are at ground potential within the BCM, the door lock actuator motors transition to the Lock position.

Having the BCM checked for DTC'S - diagnostic trouble codes could shed some light on the problem .

Most likely is a fuse. There is a fuse box at the end of the right side of the dash. Open front passenger door and there is a cover that says fuses on the end of dash. There is also a fuse box located under the hood at the right front of engine compartment. It should have a cover with a round knob in the middle of it .Unscrew the knob to remove cover.

SOURCE: 2000 Chevy Venture shows gas gauge as always full..

if the remote works but the switches inside the van doesn't then the most likely fix would be the switch, tthough it is strange that both would quit. the place too start would be pop out the switch with a small screwdriver and disconnect the connector. the top left pin and the top middle pin is the unlock circuit in the switch. check continuity with your multimeter while pressing unlock. if no continuity, then get a small piece of wire and jump those pins in the connector,( the top right and center ) you should hear the doors unlock, then you know for a fact that the switch is bad. the unlock is used more than the lock so it is a more common failure. you can also use a continuity test on the rear wiper switch. though it is more common that the motor would stick from not being used. hope this helps if you have any more questions i am glad to help... dustang

My 2003 Chevy Venture van will lock all the doors with the door lock but it will not unlock the doors.

I would try a replacement used lock/unlock switch panel before anything else,it would cost almost nothing used and usually fixes this problem, and the switch panel pops out easily for replacement Next possibility would be a broken wire where the wires flex at the door hinge area.Grab one wire at a time and pull firmly until you find a broken one. Make sure the replacement switch panel is a known working one.

You certainly aren't the first one to have security issues with these things. Your best bet is to just bypass the system. I'm pretty sure you have Passkey III. If your key has PK III on it, that would confirm. Here are some youtube videos showing you how to do it. https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=2003+chevy+venture+passkey+III+bypass

Have a 2004 Chevy Venture van with faulty power door locks. They will lock with the switch but will not unlock with the switch. Need schematics of the power door lock system. Thanks.

I don't have a solution, but a related problem. Our 2004 Chevy Venture power door locks are cycling (locking/unlocking) on their own while we are driving. This coincides with our remote keyless entry losing its effectiveness. I tried replacing the battery on the remote, but to no avail.

It sounds like you've got a broken wire on the drivers side door. Usually this occurs at the flex point of the wiring harness. Peel back the outer covering carefully exposing the wires inside. Repair any broken or those about to break. Solder & retape or shrink rap with heat gun.Hope this helps. Good luck!

Chevy Venture power windows- 2003

It is possible that it is the fuse but if so something caused the fuse to blow. It may be in the wiring which if you pull up the carpet by removing the door floor trim and lifting the carpet you will see the wiring underneath. Probably laying in water. Look for splices in the wiring which will have corroded. Repair the wiring then replace the fuse.
Another problem may be in the motors found inside the doors. The brushes may have worn out. If so you need to replace the motors. Unlikely that both motors failed at the same time though.
Usually the drivers door first since it is the most used.
