A higher mileage engine with well worn crank main bearings can allow the crank to shift enough fore and aft to cause the chipping .

This is the ring gear on the flywheel that is damaged - they can eventually wear out - however more than likely a faulty starter motor Bendix drive gear or incorrect starting can cause this damage.
You will need to remove the gearbox to replace the ring gear.
There ring gear needs to be heated to expand it for it to be replaced.

Why my skidoo 550F starter chips away the engine part with teeth on clutch.

Well it won't be chipping the clutch but the flywheel. Can be caused by stuck throw out bearing in the starter or if it was replaced with an incorrect ratio gear on the starter.

Car has to be cranked more then once, than a scraping noise and then car starts.i'm scared whats the problem

the gear on the flywheel has worn. the engine stops in one of four spots in the rotation 'cause the cylinder pressure is building. That means the starter has not got the whole flywheel, but only a few teeth in four spots that is starts on every single time. these teeth wear out, then the starter motor cog cant turn the flywheel and you get the screech like you tried to change a stick shift without the clutch!
if you do have a stick shift, then you can park on a slight hill, and roll just a bit with the clutch half out, which will rotate the engine and give the starter motor fresh teeth to work on.
in short, yes, you need a mechanic.....

Starter will not engage with fly weel all the time grinds sometimes starter is new clutch swich is working

when replacing a starter motor, some have shims or spacers to make correct distance when installed. if these wre left out on instalation this will cause the problem. another problem can be incorrect number of teeth on starter motor which will cause grinding sound and prevent correct meshing of teeth on flywheel
it is also common to get a bad new starter
check solenoid

I have a 2004 vw passat ihave put a new clutch and fly wheel on and after i run car for a bit and you go to start it. it made alot of noise in bell houseing.

If it only makes noise when you start it, and the clutch seems to be working fine...then it would have to be the starter is not aligned correctly, or the teeth on it are damaged. Take the starter out of the bell housing, and give the teeth a good inspection. If all looks OK, them it may have been in a bit crooked. Try and line it up so the teeth appear to meet at the right place with the fly wheel teeth. It may have moved after the first start if it wasn't torqued correctly or has stripped threads.
Good Luck!

Car started fine this morning then got gas and wouldn't catch.Sounded like it wanted to start but just woundn't go... any ideas?

Did the starter make a high pitch whirring sound? Because if it did then either your starter is loose in the houseing and you need to tighten it up, or the teeth on the flywheel have been chipped off. Sometimes you can turn the engine by hand by moving the front balancer on the engine and this will move the teeth enough to get it started. However, most engines stop on 3 or four places every time they shut off. This gives you a 1 in 3 or one in 4 chance of this happening every time you start the car. I would check the starter first. If it's tight you can pull the starter and look at the teeth on the flywheel. If they're chipped it would be worth having it replaced. Keep in mind it's going to mean either pulling the engine or the transmission to fix it.

Grinding noise when trying to start car.

hello first thing you need to do is take your starter out the starter drive gear either has busted teeth or the flywheel does with the starter removed mark the flywheel with chalk crayon so you no were you started from look at the teeth good keep turning the motor by hand checking till you come back to the original mark you made if there are no chips or missing teeth look at the look at the starter drive teeth there most likely busted or chewed down replace the starter goodluck please rate
