SOURCE: parking/neutral switch

Hi there jwbrown1981,

It's located on the side of your transmission/transaxle, just above the pan.

You need to jack up your vehicle to get to it. Be safe, use jack stands.

Where is the neutral safety switch located?

The neutral safety switch in a 2008 Dodge Nitro is typically located on the transmission case, near the gear selector linkage. If your vehicle is experiencing starting issues in park and now the park won't engage, it's possible that the neutral safety switch might be malfunctioning. I recommend having a professional mechanic diagnose and repair the issue to ensure it's properly addressed.

My 1998 eclipse gs will inly start in neutral and I was told cable mechananism possibly, where is that located

If it starts in neutral, the cable is most likely NOT the problem. The MOST LIKELY cause of your problem would be the transmission range sensor (A.K.A. neutral safety switch, or Park/Neutral switch) It is located on the right (passenger) side of the engine compartment on the transaxle under the lever for the shift cable. It looks like the picture below. You can try adjusting it first, but most likely it will need to be replaced if it works in neutral and not park.

P 0705 transmission range sensor circuit malfunction code for a 2001 mitsubishi galant can i replace it and where is it located

P0705 - Transmission Range Sensor Malfunction. The park/neutral position (PNP) switch includes a transmission range switch. The transmission range switch detects the selector lever position when the shift lever is in the N or P shift position and sends a signal to the Transmission Control Module (TCM). The possible causes of this are the following: Open or short park/neutral position switch circuit. Poor park/neutral position switch circuit connection. Misadjusted park/neutral position switch. Park/neutral position switch may be faulty. Inspect the pnp switch and replace if needed.

Where is the neutral safety switch on a 96 camero

The park/neutral position switch prevents the car from being started when the transmission is in any gear other than Park or Neutral.. When the transmission is in Reverse (with the engine running), the switch completes the back-up light circuit, illuminating the back-up lights.

Fig. 1: After removing the console, you can access the park/neutral position switch.

Hope help with this (remember rated this post).
