The ORVR (On-Board Refueling Vapor Recovery) system consists of a unique fuel tank, flow management valve, fluid control valve, one-way check valve and vapor canister.

The ORVR (On-Board Refueling Vapor Recovery) system is used to remove excess fuel tank vapors. This is done while the vehicle is being refueled..

Fuel flowing into the fuel filler tube (approx. 1 inches I.D.) creates an aspiration effect drawing air into the fuel fill tube. During refueling, the fuel tank is vented to the EVAP canister to capture escaping vapors. With air flowing into the filler tube, there are no fuel vapors escaping to the atmosphere. Once the refueling vapors are captured by the EVAP canister, the vehicle's computer controlled purge system draws vapor out of the canister for the engine to burn. The vapor flow is metered by the purge solenoid so that there is no, or minimal impact on driveability or tailpipe emissions.

As fuel starts to flow through the fuel fill tube, it opens the normally closed check valve and enters the fuel tank. Vapor or air is expelled from the tank through the control valve and on to the vapor canister. Vapor is absorbed in the EVAP canister until vapor flow in the lines stops. This stoppage occurs following fuel shut-off, or by having the fuel level in the tank rise high enough to close the control valve. This control valve contains a float that rises to seal the large diameter vent path to the EVAP canister. At this point in the refueling process, fuel tank pressure increases, the check valve closes (preventing liquid fuel from spiting back at the operator), and fuel then rises up the fuel filler tube to shut off the dispensing nozzle.

First, make sure you can turn the engine by hand. If you can't then the starter can't turn it either. Have someone else turn the key and look for the source of the click...may be a relay. Go over the starting circuit with a volt meter. Check for power at the starter main terminal and then with the key turned to "start" check for power at the trigger terminal on the starter. Check battery voltage and check relay operation.
You have a neutral safety switch on the transmission if its an automatic and a clutch switch if it's a stick. Check them as well. Make sure battery grounding on fender and block are also clean and secure.

-Go to nearest home Depot or Lowes to copy for you.
-If you lost it then go to the dealer with the vin number so they can make you a new one. (But regular key will run from 20 to 40 dollar. If key with chip possibly 150 to 300 dollar. )

Good luck and enjoy new key

02 Mountaineer key lost. The ONLY key I had! 10 year old cant remember what happened to it. Lol. But it was my only one. Any options? Can I call someone with the VIN and have a new one made? How much?

Well the cheapest option would be drill out the cylinder and start it with a screwdriver but i believe a new cut key cost anywhere from 200 to 500 dollars

Car wont start, the security light is blinking and the car wont start

Your VATS security system is failing. Quick fix, turn key forward 2 clicks till right before it starts. Leave it for 10 minutes. (no less) turn back key and then start again. should be fine. Getting these fixed is about 800 bucks. They sell a bypass for 200 online. I did the "10 minute trick" for over a year, till finally the Computer went. I ended up doing the 200 dollar bypass. Works great, no worries.
Wont crank, wont start, everything else seems fine???? Black chip on key? Read up on this link

My daughter lost the key with the chip in it. is there any way to get a replacement key without having to have the whole ignition system rekeyed

yes, the best thing to do is go back to the dealer ship where you bought the car, if you cant get back thier, go to an other local chevrolet dealer ship, they can reorder you a key using the vin # on your car straight from the factory. it will cost you about 100-200 dollars though.

I have lost my keys for a 1999 toyota camry.... I have been told that it is going to cost $700+ aud. I am a single mum and know nothing about cars, surely there should be a cheaper option. Please help me!!

Im glad I caught this.. This is bogus.. you will need to pay about $10

Step 1) Go to your local Toyota Dealership with your VIN #, and Registration

Step 2) Tell them you need a new key

Step 3) Wait 5 mins for a shiny new key, go home and start your car.

Toyota Land cruiser VX 100 lost the remote control keys.

well the technician must not have realized that your particular key has a chip in it. and it will not run without it. it will unlock doors and turn on ignition but will not tart the car... get your money back from the tech and go to the dealership... I know it sucks and youll probably have to spend around 200 dollars per key. I feel your pain cause i had to do the same. gl to you.
