Mid M729P. Touch-screen won't respond at all, or hold a charge on battery.

It comes on after 25% charge on battery but quickly drains after unplugging it.

SOURCE: battery wasnt holding a charge so i replaced the

well, it will with the headlights on..... do you mean it loses a charge if parked, or driving it, the battery goes dead? if parked over night and its dead, there is a draw somewhere, make sure theres no dome light or glove box light on, cell phone charger, ect. A shop will need to verify the battery and altenator are good before doing a "parasitic draw test".... the max it should draw is 250ma.

SOURCE: The check engine light is on. The battery can hold

Check battery voltage with a volt meter, should have no less then 12.0 volts, then start engine check voltage at battery again, should have no less then 13.5 volts and no more then 15.0 volts, if bad voltage there replace alternator, if all good, your batter has a dead cell, replace it.

It could be a bad battery, or it could be a bad alternator, ground wire, dirty terminals, etc.
You need to test the components.
Charge the battery.
Then put a voltmeter across it.
It should read 12.5 volts about.
When you crank it, it should drop to about 10.
If it drops lower, the batter or starter is likely bad.
If it does not drop to 10, then the starter or terminals are bad,
If you stop cranking, the battery should come back up.
If it does not, it is bad.
Once started, then you should see over 13.5 when reved up.
If not, the alternator or terminals are bad.

Battery drain overnight on a mercedes e320 2003

Unseen things can sometimes brain your battery. A trunk light that doesn't go off when the trunk is closed. Open the trunk and touch the bulb quickly, it should not be hot yet. If it is it's stuck on. The same goes for the glove compartment light.

There could be a problem with the alternator or even a battery that just won't hold a charge as opposed to an actual power drain. Fully charge the battery and then disconnect it for the night. Next morning reconnect it. If the charge is holding it will start just fine. If it doesn't then your battery is suspect.

Car is 25 year old. Some wire/wires are shorting with each other or the battery. For doing a Battery drain test known also as Parasitic Draw test.
You need a good Multimeter, probes and Fuse puller. follow the link given below for You Tube and similar ones. It is very time consuming.

2012 VW Jetta TDI battery won't hold charge and car only clicks and won't start

You need to charge your battery up more. Either get a battery charger or leave the jumper cables hooked up for a longer period of time.
Your battery was probably completely dead. You might even need a new battery...they really don't like to be completely drained.

I hqve a nissan rogue 08 i want to reset the service engine light how do i?

This works for most vehicles but no guarantee. Disconnect both battery cables from the battery and touch the cables together making sure they are in good contact for at LEAST one full minute, you could just leave the cables off the battery for maybe an hour or so but this process speeds up the draining of any capacitors in your system that hold an electrical charge. After the one minute is up re-connect cables and the light should be out and stay out providing it does not detect faults somewhere which will make it come back on fairly quickly. NOTE: You will have to reset your vehicles clock.
Best wishes!

The door lock on my 1997 Chevy s10 p.u. got stuck and drained my battery. I could hear a noise coming from the "fuse relay center" box. I had the battery recharged; however, there is no power....

If your battery was drained totally dead by the issue, then it might not be able to hold a charge any more, so having that checked should help you out. If your problem with the door locks still happens after the battery is charged and back in the truck I recommend taking the whole truck to Sears Auto Center and have them put it on their electronics tester. Their machine can usually pinpoint the location of the shorted circuit and make for an easy and quick fix by telling you whether it is a relay that it malfunctioning or if it is something else that is causing the power drain. This is a lot faster and more reliable than trying to find out which circuit is not working properly on your own (as it is not safe to work on a live wire in your engine -- a truck battery has more than enough juice to seriously injure or kill you if you touch the wrong live wires.

My friend has a 2000 Lexus ES. The battery went dead, was replaced, but still continued to go dead/not hold a charge. The mechanic replaced the battery, but the car continues to have problems - randomly...

You need a good auto electrician. It has what is known as a parasitic draw. They are difficult to find. Basically one component is drawing power even when off. You can find them by using an ammeter on the battery and pulling fuses until the draw stops. Everything on the fuse is then checked.

Check things like lights under the hood or in the trunk not turning off. It may also be a charging problem, the battery not being charged rather than something draining it. The alternator should give 13.5 volts to the battery.

I have a 2005 ES330.

Subaru legacy power lose when switched off. new battery charge rate 14 volt+

The charge rate of 14 volt shows that your alternator is responding as it should and is doing its best to recharge the battery. Even with a fully charged battery if you switch on the power hungry electrical items (main headlights, rear window demist heater etc) you should see the alternator respond by pushing out 14+ volts. A low battery will show about 12.2 volts when disconnected. OK you need to find what is draining your battery when the car is switched off. With the car off disconnect the negative terminal and measure the current flowing between the disconnected cable and the negative terminal, it should very very low, just enough to keep the clock running. If you do have residual current flow, remove and return each fuse one at a time and note each time the current reading. Quite quickly you will be able to isolate the circuit that is causing the drain. Often it is a lighting circuit for an interior light that you cannot see....such as a glove box light not going off when the lid closes or the trunk light staying on. These work by a contact switch being opened by coming into contact with a bracket when shut. If for some reason the bracket gets bent or is dislodged then the light stays on.
