If we are talking an exact time for switching off, then it must have a sleep timer switch on for that time. Since I don't have the model number I can't tell you how to cancel it, but the instructions should say something. If you don't have them search the Sharp website, they might have a free PDF of it.
If we are talking about roughly 15 minutes, then you might have a power problem, with some device overheating and shutting down after a certain time.

Why does my car stereo freeze after 4-5 minutes of perfect functioning?

You have either an external (wiring/grounding) or internal (component) problem. A couple of things come to mind that could cause the freezing - received RF signals get interupted (loose antenna connection somewhere), or internal component failure (such as a component in the radio overheating). If internal, you will probably have to replace the radio, as it would be cheaper than trying to repair it.

How to unlock a radio on a 2010 HHR

The antitheft system only allows you 15 seconds to complete each step. Have a pen and paper to get all codes before you begin.

Step 1: Start the vehicle and turn on the radio.

Step 2: Press and hold preset numbers 2 and 3 until a three digit code appears on the radio display. Write this code down.

Step 3: Press the AM/FM button. Your radio will display a second three digit code. Write the second code down. You will now have a six digit code.

Step 4: Call the Chevy Radio Code phone line at 1-800-537-5140. Enter 106010 followed by the # key to direct you to the radio code retrieval system.

Step 5: Enter the six digit code you retrieved in steps 2 and 3 followed by the * key. They must be in order. You will be given a four digit radio code. Write down the radio code.

Step 6: Start your vehicle and turn on the radio. Using the Minute and Hour buttons, enter in the four digit radio code to your stereo system. Press the AM/FM button to unlock your stereo.

alot of newer cars have an anti theft system for the radio and when you lose power you have to enter a code into the radio so you may have to call the dealership to get it

'99 ford escort radio changes modes then turns off

Its my belief that stereos in vehicles can become corrupted by maleware code. Do you play mp3, ipod, or burned cds in the stereo. I broke my factory stereo when I played a burned cd once. The market is ripe for virus and maleware protection for your car stereo so don't be surprised if you see virus protection and their virus creating friends on the scene soon. "Try reseting the stereo". You can also try to pull the ground to the car battery for 2 minutes but you will have to let the car idle for 10 minutes after you reconnect the post to set the idle correctly and let the car essentially reboot. Also jump starting a vehicle could cause malfunctions in the stereo if not breaking the electronics inside, very likely in the colder climates.
