JEM is right...the traditional location on older cars was driven mechanically off of side of engine, but cars even some old and almost anything modern are also loaded with electric-driven pumps which can be mounted back at tank, or still be in engine bay.
You could try following fuel lines or hoses back from whatever engine fuel delivery system it has, at some point one of those hoses or lines has to cross paths with some form of filter and pump.
Bear in mind that if the pump is not old-fashioned engine cam/gear -driven,then it must have an electric motor incorporated into it, and if it has an electric motor, it must have a wiring connection plug-socket of some kind on it.
