Try tapping on it lightly to get it to break loose. Or use a thin bladed scrapper to get in between the casting.

SOURCE: removal front wheel bearing 2003 mazda protege

hi there, i have 2 mazda6s, both off which i needed to removed the inner axels on, so far you have done every thing right :), but unfortunatly due to mazdas sloppy assembly the inner axles are near impossible to remove, you could try getting a 2 or 3 legged puller and remove the brake calliper and disk then try and "pull" the shaft out, but unfortunatly i doubt will work. your second option would be to use a hydraulic ram to press it out, but again due to mazdas sloppy work it is near impossible with out damaging the hub, ive tryed both option and none of wich worked, so i brought 4 second hand hubs and outer C.Vs, hope this helps.

SOURCE: front drive shaft/transfer case removal 03 chevy trailblazer 4wd

Sounds like you got it. They are heavy and ocward (spelling?). As for the front drive shaft take the bolts out and give it a couple of wacks with a dead blow hammer then slide it out. Maybe a few days before hand give it a good spray down with wd40 or like product. Also when you get to the last bolt for the t-case to trans loosen it half way then put a drain bucket under it and seperate it a little and let the trans fluid drain some, or you will be wearing it.

How to remove a pto & pulley from a cub cadet LT150 with a Koler engine

Just remove the center bolt of the PTO/pully. The pully is made to and is part of the PTO. Once the center bolt is removed there's nothing else holding it. Remove the belt before the bolt. You may need to tab downward on it to get it off for there may be a little rust holding it on the shaft. But, when you remove the center bolt, be ready for it to drop so disconnect the electric feed at the PTO connection.

01' Mitsubishi Eclipse cv axle removal passenger side

The passenger side has a inner and outer shaft and you would remove the axle nut and shaft from spindle then the center bracket and bearing (two bolts against engine block), sliding out the axle assembling at that point, or jerking it out, careful not to pull on the cv axle end but rather the jack, or inner, shaft. After removal, separate the middle by hanging upside down and taking a hammer to it, striking the inner shaft while turning around. Dont hit the dust shield or seals. Install in reverse order. Quick tip: you may get around removing ball joint by only removing both strut bolts, and possibly tie rod end bolt.

Rear axle removal on a 2004 f150 fx4

First thing is to make sure you chock the front tires so the truck will not roll. Raise the rear end and set it on jack stands. Put the transmission in Neutral and make sure the parking brake is off. Remove the rear tires and disassemble the brakes on the side with the leaking seal. Place a drain pan under the rear differential and remove the cover. Remove the differential shaft lock bolt. You will need to turn the drive shaft by hand to access the bolt. It will be on the right side off the spider gear housing. Only use a 5/16 or 8mm 6 point box end wrench to remove the bolt. After you remove the bolt reach on the top of the spider gear housing and push the differential lock shaft down to remove it. Make sure the spider gears do not rotate after you remove the shaft. If they do you will need to realign everything to reinstall the lock shaft. Push the axle shaft in enough to remove the "C" clip from the tip of it. The axle will now slide out of the rear end. You can use the tip of the axle shaft to remove the axle seal. If you're changing the bearing as well you will need a slide hammer with axle bearing adapters to remove it. You can use a socket and hammer to install the new bearing and seal. Be careful not to damage the bearing and seal. I recommend packing grease in the back side of the seal. This helps prevent the spring on the seal lip from coming off. Assembly is the reverse. Clean off all the gear oil from the differential cover and the axle. You can use RTV as a gasket if the OEM gasket is damaged. Fill the rear end with new gear oil of the proper type. Refer to your owner's manual.

How do I do a front drive shaft on a 99 silverado? My ujoint is out towards the back. I can see the front just has the 4 bolts to take that apart. what I am wondering is if the back slides out of the deal...

I see that the solution given is for an axle shaft and not the drive shaft that was asked about. I am 99% sure that if you take out the bolts the other end will slide out of the t-case. Then the u-joint can be replaced as normally done.

I'm having trouble getting rear rotors off of a 1999 F350 4x4 dually. I can't figure out how to get the snap ring off.

snap ring? Its a full floater! Take bolts off end of shaft pull shaft out, remove bearing lock nut (the correct socket works so sweet!), pull hub and rotor off, The studs hold the rotor to hub or some have external torx bolts that hold it to the hub.Remove those and you may need to tap hard with a hammer to separate. Where is that snap ring?
You will need new seals, and studs are a good idea, how do those parking brake shoes look?

DRIVESHAFT SEALS REPLACE

Have to remove wheel, have someone push brakes on & undo nut to shaft in center of hub, undo lower ball joint on control arm & pry it out, move lower control arm out from shaft, then remove shaft from transmission, then do seal. Don't forget, going back in shaft should snap in.( little retainer ring on end.)
