Batteries in what? Make sure the “+” is connected to red or positive if you installing smaller batteries like remotes etc. the bump is the “+” positive and watch batteries is the side that is smaller and has a rim around it.

Negative is the”-“ ground or black wire,
The smooth side on watch batteries the side that goes on the doing on cylinder style batteries and in some cases it will be a braided or uncovered connector. Bare wire terminal. Test you battery in another item known to work. To verify it has charge. If your still not getting power update your question with more information or take it in for service .

I have a 1994 f-150 pick up got a new battery & when i put the heat on it discharges & now truck won't.

You mean with the engine running? If the engine is running, the heater fan should be getting power from the alternator, not the battery. Does your battery light go off after engine is running? Or does the voltage gauge show normal charging when running?
If you can start the truck, have your charging system checked out. If it won't start now, have the battery charged up and try again. Then have the charging system checked. If it is good, your heater fan may have a short and drawing too much current, But a heater fan will run the battery down pretty quick, if the engine is not running.

I have a problem with a 2008 Dodge Charger, my battery went bad and I had to jump it off to take it and get a new battery put in but now my new battery won't start my car not even when the new battery...

When you jump started the vehicle, it started as normal and you drove to a shop to have a new battery installed.?? Correct??

1. Who removed the old battery and installed the new one?

2. Did the car start normally immediately after the new battery was fitted? How frequently were you able to drive the car on the new battery before the problem you described appeared?

3. Has anything been done to the vehicle since the new battery was fitted.?

The battery won't hold charge new battery

You put a new battery, now its acting like very low power again?
Most likely the alternator is bad. Maybe not putting out enough to recharge battery. Could have been the original problem.

Can be checked with a meter. Battery at rest should show 12 - 12.9 volts more or less.
With engine running, should be showing 13.5 - 14.7 volts as alternator is pushing electric back into battery.

If you start engine and (after say 10 seconds) voltage stays same or drops, then the charger needs to be replaced. Thats the alternator. Shop around at different auto parts store. (Phone first)
