SOURCE: Head bolt torque specs needed for 96 tbird 3.8

Head bolts are torque to yeild so you MUST use new bolts.
Tighten cylinder head retaining bolts in numerical sequence in three steps as follows:

  1. 20 Nm (15 lb-ft).
  1. 40 Nm (30 lb-ft).
  1. 50 Nm (37 lb-ft)
Loosen retaining bolts one at a time two to three revolutions and retighten as follows:

Long bolts:
  • Tighten to 40-50 Nm (30-37 lb-ft).
  • Rotate an additional 175-185 degrees.
  • Go to next bolt in sequence.
Short Bolts:
  • Tighten to 20-30 Nm (15-22 lb-ft).
  • Rotate an additional 175-185 degrees.
  • Go to next bolt in sequence.
Here is a pic of the sequence

Do you need to torque oil pan bolts?
Engine oil pan bolts range in torque from seven foot-pounds to 22 ft-lb or more for large engines with heavier pans and bolts. Once you've torqued the bolts and filled the engine with oil, you should run the engine for five minutes to bring it up to normal operating temperature.

The head torque specs on a 07 Chevy Impala 3.8

It is important to remember that the cylinder head bolts used for these engines should be replaced any time the heads are re-installed. Failure to replace the bolts during head installation may reduce clamping force and head gasket service life.
To install new head bolts on these engines, use a torque angle tool and:

  1. Thoroughly clean the threads in the block using a 7/16-14 tap.
  2. Install the head gasket with the arrow pointing to the front of the engine.
  3. Install the new cylinder head bolts dry.
Notice: This bolt is designed to permanently stretch when tightened. The correct part number fastener must be used to replace this type of fastener. If the correct bolt is not used, the parts will not be tightened correctly and the engine may be damaged.
Step 1: Tighten all bolts in sequence (see Figure 1) to 35-37 ft.lbs. (49-50 Nm).
Step 2: Rotate each bolt 130 degrees

What is the proper torke for lower intake bolts on 2005 equinox

First, without a picture to guide, orientation of the bolt torque pattern. Looking back toward the engine from the front; Forward refers to the bolt position toward the front of the car / aft is toward the cars rear:

1st bolt is forward, 3rd from the left
2nd is aft, 3rd from left
3rd is forward, 2nd from left
4th is aft, 2nd from left
5th is forward, 1st on the right
6th is aft, 1st on right
7th is forward, 1st on left
8th is aft, 1st on the left

The following is from the GM 2005 Chevy Equinox service manual;

Notice
Maximum gasket performance is achieved when using new fasteners, which contain a thread locking patch. If the fasteners are not replaced, a thread locking chemical must be applied to the fastener threads. Failure to replace the fasteners or use thread locking chemical MAY reduce gasket sealing capability.

Notice
Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners to avoid damage to fasteners and systems.

IMPORTANT: All lower intake manifold bolts need to be cleaned, free of any foreign material, and reused - only if new bolts are unavailable. Use GM P/N 12345382 (Canadian P/N 10953489) or equivalent and apply to the old intake manifold bolt threads.

IMPORTANT: Manufacturer recommends the center bolts be fully torqued before the diagonal bolts to assure proper seal ability.

IMPORTANT: Lower intake manifold bolts in positions 6 and 7 should be torqued to specification using a crows foot type tool.

Install the lower intake manifold bolts.
a. Tighten the lower intake manifold bolts (1, 2, 3, 4) in sequence to 7 N-m (62 lb in) on the first pass.
b. Tighten the lower intake manifold bolts (5, 6, 7, 8) in sequence to 13 N-m (115 lb in) on the first pass.
c. Tighten the lower intake manifold bolts (1, 2, 3, 4) in sequence to 13 N-m (115 lb in) on the final pass.
d. Tighten the lower intake manifold bolts (5, 6, 7, 8) in sequence to 25 N-m (18 lb ft) on the final pass.

I have a 2005 chevy equinox keeps running hot

Check if the cooling fluid is "evaporating" very fast, because the head gasket can be blown. Needs a repair very soon. Better don't let the engine run any longer.

On my 05 Chevy Equinox there is antifreeze pouring out from the exhaust manifold bottom boat on the passenger side what could it be what could it be it be

If you have an internal leak in that location the coolant will be most likely escaping via a crack in the cylinder head. You should check more closely to see if it is actually escaping via the cylinder head gasket between the head and engine block.

Most likley you will now have coolant escaping into the lubrication system so check your engine oil for coolant contamination.

How can I change the transmision fluid in my 2005 chevy equinox?

Most transmission pans do not have a drain plug. To drain the transmission the velicle will have to be raised. I usually set a large drain pan-several quarts in size-under a rear corner of the transmission pan. I loosen about three bolts on the corner so the transmission fluid will drain. When drained, I remove the rest of the bolts-all 32 or more of them. With the pan off check the color of the fluid look for burnt looking fluid. See if the fluid smells burnt. If so you may have other transmission problems. Look for metal pieces in the transmission pan another indicator of other problems. Clean all the old gasket from the pan and transmission housing-be careful not to gouge either the pan or housing. I use my finger or thumbnail if possible. Gouging either of these places will cause leaks. If you're going to replace the screen do so now. Place the new pan gasket on the pan. Check with the manufacturer's specs before using any permatex or other silicones to hold the pan gasket. I always slide a bolt or two through the pan and gasket holes, lift the pan, and start the bolts. Go slow. Make sure each bolt is going through the gasket hole before tightening it to the transmission housing. Replace the bolts and tighten to a snug using a criss-cross pattern. Go back and forth across the pan tightening each bolt a few turns until all are tight. Don't overtighten the bolts. Doing so will damage the pan gasket, When all bolts are tight, refill the transmisson slowly checking for leaks. Fill the transmission to manufacturer's specifications.
