Rear tail shaft sensor .drives side of trans .
That is in limp mode, so you can drive slow short distance for help
Get a scan done on it
Usually fluid level low & or solenoid failure.

Ford : back the truck up 10ft put truck in neutral and disengage four wheel low. (You can't drive in four wheel low cause its a pulling gear and you won't do over 3-5 mph.)
Nissan: start truck see if it idles normal. If so rev motor and check throttle for sticking and check EGR valve make sure its not stuck open or malfunctioning when you drive it..

try checking your auto trani fluid... and with the 4 wheel drive try puting ti in nuteral and if the doesnt work try puting it in reverse and back up after taking it out of 4 wheel drive.

that speed sensor controls shift from second gear to 3rd..been there done that ..
