Nissan extended their warranty but you have exceeded it by 4000 miles. If you push real hard, they may help you put.

SOURCE: 2004 Nissan Murano, back door can't open

I had a similar problem with a sienna and sometimes the cable ( inside the door) between the handle and the latch gets stuck in the sleeve. Kind of like the brake cable on a bike.
take the panel off by removing all the screws you can see on the panel and pull the panel off. There will be plastic pins holding it. Some of them may pop off and some will break off.
Drip oil down the sleeve so the cable slides freely. I used bike chain oil. Do not use WD40. This is **** and will not work for very long. Try the handles a few times before you put the panel back.

SOURCE: 2003 Nissan Murano with 130,000 miles problems

This is way over the head of the home repairman, you will need the dealer to look into these codes.

It is most likely A speed sensor issue. It slows the vehicle down because the speed sensors are malfunctioning or there controllee is.

My 2003 Nissan Murano's gas consumption has spiked drastically.

Update on my research in trying to diagnose / troubleshoot this problem: I tried to think about when we first noticed the gas consumption spike and I realized it was right after we had a new battery installed. Paying more attention to when I drive the vehicle (I don't commute to work every day as I can work virtual office from home) I have noticed that the shifting is not the same as before - in fact, I don't notice any shifting in the CVT at all and I have watched the TAC to back this assumption up. Additionally, when I let off the gas pedal the Murano decelerates rapidly & quite noticeably. It is not driving in the same fashion as it used to. I had read in my research that on occasion the engine control module (ECM) memory can get wiped out when the battery is exchanged - wondering if this could cause the shifting behaviour I have picked up on ? (Note: the fluid was changed last year in the CVT - I checked it - it is clear & up on the stick. Really hoping that we are not into an expensive CVT repair / replacement.... )

Any thoughts on this one out there?

Thx

nissan cvt's are well known for stepper motor failure.Plug the ECU onto a diagnosis machine to be sure but if the jerking is accompanied by failure to smoothly change up and down gears it is the stepper motor. If everythng else is ok check fuel pump

What is a driveline services for a 2004 Nissan Murano

the CVT transmission should not need service until 100k miles.

Additionally Nissan extended the service of all Muranos with CVT transmissiont to 120k miles.

you can check the forum nissanmurano.org for any Murano issues. I am not affiliated with that site but a regular user

ouch. since it's a Prairie and not a Murano i'm not sure but the Murano in US has a warranty to 120k miles on the CVT. Check your dealer if they offer that where you are
