You can't just replace it because it need programming for that car. It have to be programmed with the VIN Number and the mileage. There are very few reasons that you would ever change an ECU. The number is on a paper sticker on the outside.
Yes and no, I suggest getting a hold of a local audio installation shop and see if they can help you. To install an aftermarket remote start system you have to bypass the anti theft system.
it sounds like your security system failed..its very common in the gm vehicles. I had this happen to my impala.. check this out I hope it helps.. you are also able to put it in yourself. Hope t helps
When you have remote start, the security system is bypassed so that the motor will start without the security key. Once you wish to drive, the key must be installed, the system reads the key and if it doesn't line up.... It kills the motor. I'd guess you have a security system issue. http://vatspasslockpasskeysecurityhelp.yolasite.com/
Without doing testing we'd only be guessing ,having a qualified repair shop run diagnostic's on it would be your best bet . 003 Engine Peformance Tests Scan Data Tests
Rigging the vehicle's isn't fixing it . This can cause problems your not aware of. Do yourself a favor an have it fixed correctly
I think you may suspect the hazard (4 way flasher) switch at this moment. The indicator wiring goes thru the Haz switch as standard because of the system requirments. Either a loose plug connector or improper reset hazard on / off position at switch. Good luck
i have a 2005 saturn ion i have the some problem i find out my batter we dead the batter is old school its vented and the batter is a 8 amp to save the batter get charger that his i amp selecter or you will have to pay 100 to120 next you have to get a starter it worked for me
Not sure exactly what your problem is but is it a no start, no crank with the security light flashing? Saturn has release a service bulletin on the ignition switch on the ion. They have redesigned the switch because it is defective.
