There is a sensor in the front center of the van, that gets damaged by water. There is an error code to verify this issue, be sure to extract the code first.....

When replacing the sensor, also replace the final pig tail to the sensor, or have repeating issue much sooner than you would like.

Airbag light stays on, how do I fix this myself with no cost or little cost?

If you haven't had the error code read from the cars SRS Airbag Computer Control Module, take the car to your friendly auto parts retailer and have the code read. Most parts suppliers will provide a complementary scan.

If the light comes on a second or two after the key is turned on it is an indication that the SRS computer has failed a system check.
The attached image shows components checked during the SRS diagnostics startup check. They check the wiring for bad connections and the airbag explosive charge to confirm the connections and charge is ready..

Having the error code data will give you an indication of the cost associated with the repair. With the light lit the saftey restraint is deactivated and the problem should be corrected. Many cars have tensioners that tighten the seat belt during a crash. Connections to these components along with the seat presence switches can have connection problems under and around the seats.

SRS remains charged even when the power to the SRS computer is removed. This makes sense when you think about a crash where the electrical systems fails at the instant the system needs to deploy the airbag!!

These systems need to be serviced only by a qualified technician. The Airbags can deploy without warning as when you are working on the system and not follow the required procedures.

Airbag light reset code

You would need to reset the warning light and then see if it comes back on, which would indicate a fault still there. Try this procedure

http://s16.photobucket.com/user/rogersb/media/AirBagReset.jpg.html

"How do you reset the airbag warning light in a '94 Camry?
A: Clearing the warning light in '92-'96 Camrys by the following procedure:
In the DLC1 or DCL2 (data link connector under the hood, see following diagram)
Use two short wires, one wire at terminal TC and a different wire at terminal AB
With the ignition key ON - wait 6 seconds, then:
Ground terminal TC to good body ground for one second
Then ground terminal AB for one second
Then TC one second
Then AB one second
Then ground TC until the light blinks.
Make sure the interval between grounding terminals is not more than 0.2 sec.
Remove the ground wires
Be very careful to only use the correct terminals."

Airbag light on

Try this procedure, but if it comes back on, your airbag is faulty, of course.

Need a fuse box diagram for 2003 mercury marquis for the compressor for the airbag system

The airbag system does not have a compressor. The only compressors on your vehicle will be for the air-conditioner and the air suspension system. Then, what, exactly do you want to know? Which fuses protect the circuits for whatever compressor you are having trouble with?

Simply replacing a blown fuse is NOT going to fix whatever problem you are trying to fix unless you diagnose and repair the reason the fuse blew.

I would be happy to help you with your problem, but first we need to be clear on what it is that we are trying to fix.

Please review the following articles:

Where's The Fuse?

What Else Could Be Wrong?

I have a 2006 Jetta and the airbag light is coming on. I have been through a factory recall fix and a software upgrade and now the dealer wants to charge me 400 bucks to troubleshoot the wiring. Does...

if the airbag light is on then its not a fuse ,most likely cause is the wiring under the seat or the serpentine winding under the steering wheel airbag ,try disconnecting the battery then cleaning the connection under the seat and also the plug into the pyrotechnic device on the seat belt anchorage. If you still cannot get it right then use a diesel preheater timer relay and connect the airbag light through this so the light goes out after a few seconds then vehicle will pass its vehicle mechanical inspection test

Airbag light says on: when tested it was ready to depoy why

When your airbag light is on, it means that the air bag system is malfunctioning, and not ready to deploy. You will need to take it to a dealership where they actually have the knowledge to find and fix your problem.

Airbag light

Take it into a Hyundai Dealership and have the SRSCM scanned for the specific trouble codes. They will tell you EXACTLY where the problem is and what's needed to fix it. NOW, having written that, if you want to try 'CLEARING' the airbag light to see if it comes back 'ON', disconnect the battery cables (+) and (-) from the battery and touch them together for 10 seconds (this is with the ignition key in the 'RUN' position). Reconnect the cables to the battery to see if the Airbag light comes back on or stays on. If it does, then have it diagnosed by a qualified technician.

Airbag light

The wires going from to the airbag plug could have been pinched at reinstallation.I think that the ignition switch was replaced and it is very easy to pinch the wires from the airbag plug. One has to be very careful when reinstalling.
