I have a Chevy 3500 Express truck. I am getting 3 codes. 1:P0200 Injector circuit open 2:P0200 Injector circuit open (pending) 3: cylinder 5 misfire (pending) Key on fuel pressure is 50psi and running is 52psi. The fuel filter has been changed. Cap, rotor, wires, and pvc also changed. The engine idles good but under a load it runs rough and has a strong odor of raw fuel and smoke from exhaust. Any ideas? Thanks Joe

P0200 fuel injector circuit

Hi Gary, The code is indicating a malfunction of the injector circuit, meaning it could be a crank or cam shaft pick up sensor malfunction, a knock sensor, or the ECU, cables or injector. Get me some additional info in relation to performance and other symptoms and we'll see what we can discover. Regards John

2000 Chevy S-10 Pickup smoking (GRAY) you can smell gas , its like it lost power and aint getting full gas pressure.

I had to give it gas sometimes for it to start ? Stepping on the gas pedal does not give it gas till it starts . Pushing on the accelerator pedal while cranking gives it more air , not fuel , untill it starts an is running . It has electronic fuel injection . Your vehicle is flooding out . running rich .

DTC P0200 Injector Control Circuit

Circuit Description
The powertrain control module (PCM) has four fuel injector driver circuits, each of which controls a fuel injector. The PCM monitors the current in each driver circuit and is able to control the driver circuit. The current through each driver can rise to a peak of 2 amps to quickly open the fuel injectors and can reduce to 1/2 amp to hold the fuel injectors open. This is called peak and hold. If the current cannot reach a 2 amp peak, a DTC is set. This DTC is also set if an fuel injector driver is shorted to voltage.

An injector driver circuit that is open or shorted to voltage will cause a DTC P0200 to set and will also cause a misfire due to an inoperative injector. The misfire DTC should also be set indicating a misfire.
Long Term and Short Term FT that are excessively high or low are a good indication that an injector is malfunctioning. Refer to Sequential Multiport Fuel Injector Balance Test to test for malfunctioning injectors.

What is p200a my check engine light is on 2011 kia forte koup

Hi there,

I think the code you are referring to is P0200.

This code means your vehicle computer (PCM) has identified an issue within the Fuel Injector circuit.

Possible causes for P0200 code are:

  • Open or shorted injector
  • Injector low internal resistance (basically an injector that works, but is out of specs)
  • Grounded driver circuit
  • Open driver circuit
  • Driver circuit shorted to voltage
  • Wiring harness intermittently shorting against underhood components

Cheers,

Misfire 5,6 clyd code p0300 p0200

Well P0200 is a detected malfunction in one or more of your fuel injectors.
P0300 is multiple misfire detected.
I would guess that the P0200 code is causing the P0300 code so find out why you are having an injector issue.
Possible causes: check fuel and air filter, fuel pressure, coil performance, and injector performance. The coils and injectors need to be viewed through a scan-tool. Looking at live data and performing tests. Without it you can try to look at plugs and see if you can notice anything or use a devise that measures temperature. A cylinder that isn't firing will run cool. Good-luck.
