It sounds like your new crank sensor is defective. It should be under warranty.
When it shuts off you have no spark right? Do you have a powered test light. Is the sensor you are replacing in the transmission bell housing or in the distributor. I'll look up the diagram for this. You said you can hear the fuel pump running?
When the coil doesn't fire have you checked for fire signal from the ecm at the coil? It might be a bad connection to the coil or a bad coil.

pulled crank sensor off checked with ohm meter reading 218 between the 2 terminals.
replaced crank sensor still shuts off. does not get spark from coil when it shuts off. can here fuel pump working, changed out fuel filter also. ecm problems?
no spark from coil, pulled on coil had spark, removed coil & ecm unit cleaned replaced with an additional ground wire to tub seems to be fine. trying to go out for archery tomorrow, will take jeep hopefully that did the trick.

you gota test to see if fuel spark etc is missing when failed. could be alota things a bad crank sensor will do this but you must test and let us know your findings so we can direct you accordingly
