98 saturn sl2 horn is constantly blowing.

A rain storm came in last night and my window was cracked. The Horn of my 98 Saturn SL2 started going off constantly. I ran out and found water in the steering column and behind the buttons for the horn. Anyway to fix this. I dried it out and it still is going off.

I have removed the fuse so it won't blow anymore.

You may just have to wait it out until the shorted out areas dry out, or disconnect the battery cables, replace the fuse, reconnect the cables and see what happens. HOWEVER: If you do, you will also reset everything else electrical. . .

SOURCE: '98 SL2 Saturn Traction Control

Traction control helps limit tire slip in acceleration on slippery surfaces. In the past you had to feather the gas pedal to prevent the drive wheels from spinning wildly on slippery pavement. Many of today's vehicles employ electronic controls to limit power delivery for the driver, eliminating wheel slip and helping the driver accelerate under control. Don't turn it off.

SOURCE: saturn sl2 emissin problem

If the SES light is on, take a paper clip bend it in a u-shape and jump the scanner input positions A B. This should flash the ses in sequesces to give you the trouble code, Please see the following link. http://www.troublecodes.net/GM/ Refer to the code to see what the issue may be. SES lit means that there is a emmissions related issue. Refer to the other links for additonal information on O2 sensor resistance, and the egr valve solinoid. Check the EGR is relitive easy for operation. Remove the vaccum hose and place a hose of similar suckon the hose to pull vaccum if the diafram underneith retracts, hold the vaccum by plugging off the tube with your touge if the diafram retracts, will not hold the vaccum, it is bad. The solinoid should read 40-60 ohms if good. http://www.saturnfans.com/forums/index.php http://www.aldlcable.com/sc/pages.asp?pageid=21

SOURCE: AC not working in 98 Saturn SL2

Did it gradually get warmer over the years or just recently. If it just happened then you could have a leak in the system or a compressor that died. Pressure test the system and verify that the compressor is working. You may get lucky and just need a recharge but more than likely you have a leak somewhere in the system.

My horn on my 1996 saturn sl2 doesnt work the fuse is good. i cant find the horn where is it and how do i take it out and test it

the horn is beneath the driver side head light assembly. there is a nice video of removing this over on youtube.com. go there search and watch it. you have to take out the headlight assembly to get at it
as the fellow points out, the relay is inside the horn on the 96-99 saturns so you can not replace it with a generic two wire horn off the part store shelf.

I have a 1997 Saturn SL2 and my horn stopped blowing and i cannot see where fuse is in the box.

The 96-99 saturns had a special 3 wire horn which included its own relay. You need to have someone troubleshoot your horn. It sits under the driver side head light assembly and is not hard to get at if you have a few basic tools. You can NOT replace it with a generic 2 wire horn. The little horn buttons in the steering wheel have been know to go bad also, so before you start replacing parts spend a few bucks and pay someone to figure out whether the horn is good or not.

Horn dosent work cant find relay 95 saturn sl2 2 wire horn

Could be the switches inside the steering wheel. But much easier to swap the relay first and remove it as a possibility. You can also jump 12 volts directly from the battery to the horn with a long heavy wire just to make sure the horn is good. Saturn relays are to the left of the passenger's knee
behind a velcro fastened panel.

I need to get a fuse box layout for 1999 Saturn SL2. The horn is not working in my sons car and we would like to determine whether or not it is the fuse. We can't tell which fuse is for the horn because...

The saturn horns ARE notorious for failing, you may have to replace the horn because it has a built in horn relay that is the cause of the failure. YOU WILL KEEP BLOWING FUSES if the horn is not working because it's grounding out through the bad relay that is built into the horn. DON'T go with a loud or aftermarket horn if you don't know how to wire it safely or you will fry the clock spring in the steering wheel, just stick with the stock horn and you will be fine.

Location of horn on 1996 Saturn S series. Horn doesn't work and its not the fuse. Don't know where horn is located under the hood

On SL2, the horn is just in front of the radiator in the middle of the car. It is nautilus shaped, although it is difficult to see the shell-like shape while it is installed.

'96 would have a built-in relay in the horn; no relay in the junction box.

Hope help with this.

Help! I have 98 Saturn SL2 that was live one minute dead the next

Sounds exactly like my 1999 SL2 which had "burning and arching" in the fuse box. Car one day be fine the next I'd take it to the store, come back in 10 minutes and wouldn't start, no radio, no power windows, no keyless entry remote, no rear defrost and even locking doors from inside power buttons it sounded odd. This fixed the problem by replacing the fuse box.

98 sl2 horn replacement with car alarm

You need to wire a relay to the horn wire first and then run the wire from the relay to the horn. You need to get a single pole relay. go the auto parts store and tell them what you are doing and they will sell you a basic horn relay. The stock horn had a relay attached to it.
