Yes, if you didn't see it from the fuel lines coming from the tank along the frame rail, it's integrated into the fuel pump which is inside the gas tank. I believe 04 was the last year of the external fuel filters for Envoys and Trailblazers.
ok so for idle on new cars you cant adjust it but for the idle problem take out your idle air control valve and clean it with carb spray or replace it for sixty dollars and if you need more help lemme know
Well, the problem is that I dont know the reason, you should investigate. There could be issues with lamps (must get new) or electricity problems (must head to auto-service)
More than likely the stepper motors that drive the gauges are going bad, this a common problem on these instrument clusters. There are several repair services listed on E-bay who repair clusters, if you are willing and capable of removing it from the vehicle.
izzy, The fuel gauge is a serial data controlled component. The PCM sends a message to the gauge to tell it what the sending unit says the fuel level is.
Because you do not have any EVAP codes or others, I would speculate the gauge is defective.
Take your vehicle to a repair shop and have them do a data scan and look at the fuel level data to see if the sending unit is sending the correct level to the PCM. If it is, they can check to see if the fuel gauge is getting the correct message but not showing it correct fuel level. This would indicate the gauge is defective.
Good luck and let me know.
