Had the same problem with power windows sticking, either the motor is old and getting weak, or, a quick check fix is that as the weatherstripping gets old around the window it dries out and gets hard, the window when it slides will tend to stick on the weatherstripping, try cleaning the weatherstripping around the window with alcohol, then soak the weatherstripping with armor-all, or some spray silicone lube, you will probably have to do this from time to time, otherwise you can replace the weatherstripping..

Power windows inoperable on left side of my 2002 Lincoln towncar Cartier (front and back). The rear window quit working first and then later the front.window quit. After several months they started...

The only thing that is in common with both of those windows is the Master Control Window Switch. (The switch panel on the driver's door) A failure of this switch could possibly be the problem, but it is not real likely that it would affect both windows, and only intermmitently. The more likely cause would be that the window motors on both doors are sticking. Try slamming the door fairly hard while someone is holding the switch. If the window starts working, replace the motor.

I have a lincoln town carr 2000 and my driver side window will not roll up and my driver side wiper is broke and my driver side heater for my seat will not work now

for the window, take out the switch and clean it up or replace it. when you clean it, be careful cause the parts inside are pretty small. and the seat heater i would check the plug under the seat and make sure its still plugged in and if it is then check the fuse for it. and for the wiper, replace the wiper motor, and autopart store will have it

How to remove driver side power window switches in a 2005 Lincoln Towncar

To remove the window switch console from the drivers side door, gently pry up the console, start at the front of the panel, because this is where the friction fastener is. After this is pryed up, slide the unit forward and remove. Then you can remove the switch package. This package can be disassembled and you can clean the contacts to restore the switch back to operation,.

Driver side switch sticks/broken. Driver window

1. Seek a replacement switch via a local salvage yard.
2. Look in a Haynes manual ($20) for direct directions as to how to remove and replace it.

If the switch is simply sticking you can clean it using CRC QD Electronic Cleaner. Use the straw to shoot the cleaner in the gaps between the switch and face plate and then work the switch. (TEST A SMALL AMOUNT FIRST with a rag - this stuff can on occasion melt some plastics) better to know before you completely melt the button.
