2000 hyundai accent hesitates when accelerating.have to ease up on gas gentley runs fine on hwy driving stop and go traffic seems to aggrevate the problem engine light is on

Could be a problem with the idle air control valve on the throttle body or a vac leak.

I have same problem. It is the purge valve associated with emissions system

check the knuckle joint at bottom of steering column, its usually where it meets the floor before going through to steering rack. hope this helps

Ill bet it does, have it checked ASAP before you ruin the catalytic converter.

i have heard that problem on the new kia small suvs and they seem to solve it with a new tps they say. so im thinking this might be a problem on your vehicle aswell, seeing as they are both korean manufacturers. its worth a shot.

your fuel injectors are clogged

I had the exact smae problem and threw aaway a ton of money on bad "guesses" at what was wrong. The actual fix was replacing the crank shaft position sensor for 50 or 60 bucks. Swapped out bad for good and cars has run great every day since.

Hi had a similar problem last week with my 2000 accent took car to dealer who put it on the computer, turned out that the 'mass airflow unit' needed replacing. Very expensive part cost £182 and labour £36 (Hyundai dealer) sorry!!!!

How's the battery? need a little more info.

Could be bad motor mounts, does your motor rock back and forth a lot when you rev it.
