Master sergeant if you wrap a string around the gears and hold one end of the string on the belt pulley you can measure the belt and go to a parts store and buy one long enough. You u have an old your compressor it's a 1/2 drive belt some were 3/8's an inch need to put belt in groove and needs to go 3/4 into the groove, being that old of a pick up with a after market York compressor you would have to go to alldatadiy.com or York compressor.com the compressor company and they can give you the diagram but will ask for the vin #. Thank you for your service sir. If you need more help let me know.

I have a 1963 Avanti, replacing belts on engine, do not have diagram for installation, It has AC, 289cu, 3 belts, cut old ones off, did not draw location of them , my fault

Studebaker Avanti !!!!! first disk brake car USA 63'
built on lark chassis, (many help on engine parts this fact)

wow super rare classic car, never seen here. 1200 made. only.!
google it?
belts come in vast sizes so best is not cut them, but take them in tact to a car parts store and they measure them up./
and with AC is one more belt size
so rare the online SM only list LARK
NEXT TIME ,NO CUTS, AND USE CAMERA
LEARN THAT GOOGLE FINDS NO PHOTOS OF 63 ENGINES EASY
OR AT ALL.
But I see some
the main pulley on engine Damper crank pully is multi grove kind
and front goes to fan/pump , looking from the top see what aligns to the below.
but AC is and After market kit put on there right? nah X84 AC options
$4400 buck new.
for sure , learn to align all belts looking top down to main bottom pulley groves back then I did that, on cars with lost belt or 2.
see each accessory to mid range, tension first. (arc)
then used rope 1/2" to make fake belt to get circumference
or t using old cut belt Now lost can't get width.?

I measure the pulley grove width, and buy up to 3 belts.
3 guessing circum. yes ive done this and is a pain, lost belts are
and service manuals lost or can buy them.
guess min, avg or max per listings of belts Circum.
then return the 2 wrong ones,
the do the next accessory and repeat till done.
or join a real Avanti forum , of real owners.
or find a real service manual googling like mad.
I found an onllin SM but has no accessory pages, sad face.

What is causing water to leak down onto the passenger side floorboard of my 2004 Mazda 6 wagon when I have AC on?

Feel the water and smell it. If it smells sweet and fells oily, is is coolant. If is isn't oily and has no real smell, it is water. There is a tray under the evaporator and heater cores that catches water/coolant and drains it via a tube thru the firewall to the outside of the car. This tube is probably clogged and needs purged. If you have coolant on the floor, you'll need to replace the heater core. If it is water, purging the hose will solve the problem as the water is just condensation from the AC coils

'82 Volvo wagon- I was informed 2weeks ago I need

Are you talking about a manual gearbox or auto?

The only situation a snapped belt would have an effect on an auto-box, would be if it were driving a manual (non electric) radiator cooling fan, snapped, and were then unable to cool the radiator and autobox oil radiator.
I doubt very much this is your setup though, so no. Your belts wouldn't have an effect on your gearbox.
Your drive belts would typically drive any or all of the following:

1) Alternator
2) Power steering pump
3) Water pump
4) A.C. compressor

What kind of serpentine belt do I need for a 1998 ford expedition (5.4 litr)

Just go to your local parts store and give them your engine size which you already posted here and the accessory equipment you have on your vehicle. Meaning power steering, AC and the such. They will be able to look the part number up for you. Be prepared to shell out about $42.00 for the belt.

My 2006 X-Terra just started to make a mild screeching noise once I begin to drive it right after the initial start-up. The noise does not appear again until I let it sit for a bit (like overnight or...

It sounds like a belt may be beginning to slip. Open the hood, take a flashlight and check all of your belts for glazing on the inside of the belt. Also check for fraying on the outside of the belt. Try to remember when you last changed your belt.

Also, after your car sat awhile, open the hood and have someone else start it while you look under the hood for a slipping belt. It helps if you have marked the belt with a red permanent market so you can see the movement of your belt.

In time, if you do nothing the screeching will get worse and start to happen more often to all the time. It may take a while before your belt finally breaks.

If it is a water pump belt, it will affect your cooling system and if it is an ac belt it will affect your ac system.

I can't get the alternator belt off, i've removed the power steering belt but can't get the ac belt off and am pretty sure i have to to get the alternator belt off. how to i get the ac belt off?

normally it is a spring loaded tensioner holding the belt on and use a breaker bar to get the tension off of it and try www.autozone.com to see if they have your car listed for diagrams pictures and step by step instructions if your car is not listed then try your local library they have all the car manuals and even copy them for you
