2006 Dodge Dakota Humming/Whining Noise

I have a 2006 Dodge Dakota with only 17,000 miles. But I've only had it for the last 4,000 miles. It seems to have a humming/whining at 37 mph, 42 mph, and 52 mph, etc. It is only upon acceleration. The dealer has replaced the radiator fan clutch assembly and completely overhauled the rear differential assembly, but apparently that's not it, as the noise is still there.

Any ideas?

I'll check it when I get home. The truck has had other recent issues, and I'm getting concerned that maybe it was a "flood vehicle" from FL - although I have the Carmax report and the dealer assured me it wasn't (but like they'd tell me). Bad battery, bad temperature overhead module, bad rear differential, A/C freezing up, windows popping, and I even think the turn signals are starting to skip a beat. We looked under the dash at lunch today and could see rust on the metal parts inside the truck under the dash...The truck came from Tampa, FL. Am I just being paranoid? I asked the dealer who has been trying to repair my truck (not the same dealer who sold me the truck), and they said they they did not believe it had been in water. But then again, I'm not convinced that they know much about flood vehicles, or are experts on anything.

Although this is an old thread, i just got finished installing an oil cooler, and then started the humming sound, i think the fan pulling in the air causes this humming sound because of the addtional mounted radiator in the front of the main radiator

Makes a loud whining noise and is slipping when

Verify that your trans fluid is at the correct level. When if at all was the trans last serviced?

If fluid is low, try bringing it up to proper level with Valvoline ATF+4 fluid. You need to used either fluid from a dealer, or the valvoline brand which is approved by Dodge.

Whining noise from front of 2003 impala.higher

Apparently the whine is car speed related and not engine speed. I'm surprised that you didn't say anything about checking the wheel bearings?

Noise in front wheels of 97 dodge dakota

this is at least one bad wheel bearing, the bearing that is bad will be on the side of the direction you steer that lessens the noise.
