My 1997 chevy lumina is throttling too high to drive

Clean the Throttle Body and MAF. The Throttle Body is carboned up and is not closing fully.

the engine is running too lean, may want to check the timing, get the fuel system looked at, there may be a problem in the carburetor/throttle body.

Have the fluid level checked, low fluid can cause this problem. Only check fluid level when the ****** is hot. NEVER COLD

check the oil pan,or check the front and rear seal.

your door pin switch is most likely bad. it is what turns it on and off.

you must be low on coolant check the coolant level.

You have a bad "stepper motor" on your throttle...if you have more than 200,000 miles on the car be prepared to spend $200+ to fix...Sorry, just can't be done at home. :o(

There are no coolant lines connected to the throttle body, just the two fuel line. The high pressure side and low pressure side (Return line) and I believe the lines don't even connect to the throttle body on a multi port engine, the lines go to the fuel rails to the injectors.

look around under the airbox. u should see the metal tubing for the ac system. there are 2 ports with black plastic screw on caps.

i would check the bulbs first. then continue to the brake switch
