If no one has been able to find the issue with this.It is possible that the pcm may be having an issue of sorts and may need replaced. There are a few tests that should be run prior to condemning the vehicles computer. Info yyou would like the testing info let me know but fully capable a scan tool is required for a portion of testing.
Circuit Description
The throttle pressure that is applied to the primary regulator valve modulates the line pressure causing the line pressure solenoid valve to precisely modulate and create line pressure according to throttle position or engine load. This modulation action controls the line pressure which in turn provides smoother shifts between gears.
When the powertrain control module (PCM) receives the throttle position opening angle, the PCM controls the line pressure by sending a predetermined duty cycle to the solenoid valve.
The line pressure solenoid valve controls the transaxle line pressure for smooth transaxle operation based on signals from the throttle position (TP) sensor and the vehicle speed sensor (VSS).
When the PCM detects a continuous open or short to ground in the line pressure solenoid circuit, then DTC P2716 sets.
DTC P2716 is a type B DTC.
DTC DescriptorThis diagnostic procedure supports the following DTC:
DTC P2716 Line Pressure Control Solenoid
Conditions for Running the DTCPCM detects a open or short to ground in line pressure solenoid circuit.
Conditions for Setting the DTCDTC P2716 sets when either of the following conditions occurs:
•
The PCM detects an open in the solenoid circuit.
•
The PCM detects an short to ground in the solenoid circuit.
Action Taken When the DTC Sets
•
At the time of the first failure, the PCM records the operating conditions when the Conditions for Setting the DTC are met. The PCM stores this information as a Failure Record.
•
The PCM illuminates the malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) during the first consecutive failure in which the Conditions for Setting the DTC are met.
•
The PCM turns OFF power to the solenoid.
•
The PCM stores DTC P2716 in PCM history.
Conditions for Clearing the MIL/DTC
•
A scan tool can clear the MIL/DTC.
•
The PCM clears the DTC from PCM history if the vehicle completes 40 warm-up cycles without an emission related diagnostic fault occurring.
