1989 Lincoln Town Car Turn Signal Relay location

I need to find out where the turn signal relay is located in a 1989 Lincoln Town Car. I already know that the hazard relay is located on the fuse panel, I have tested the relay and it works clicking open and shut while the hazard switch is on and the hazard lights all work. The turn signals on the other hand are not making the clicking sound when in the on position and of course there are no turn signals on the dash or exterior lights. I have verified that the hazard and turn signal relays are separate relays on this model although the relays are identical. I looked up in and around the steering column and behind the dash. I'm unable to locate the relay.

Please Help,

Thanks in advance,

    Thanks Robby,

But I am sure they are indeed 2 separate relays, the one on the fuse panel is the hazard relay and it works correctly, I can feel and hear it working when the hazards are on.

    Thanks again,

    Eric

Turn signals don't work. Checked fuses, OK, checked bulbs, OK. What next. 2003 Lincoln town car.

It sounds like you may have overloaded and burned out the flasher relay. On most cars, this is a small 2 or 3 pronged cylindrical unit. On some Fords I have encountered, it is way up under the dash and actually has a relay with other circuitry. Consult a specific auto manual for location and access if this is the case. In most cars the factory installed relay can not handle the load of the additional trailer lights and will cause them to flash irradically or fry the relay. There are heavy duty relays available for these applications

Everlasting turn signal flasher or relay location on a club car

Turn signals have never been a factory option on any standard carts. Only on models like the villager 8 passenger. Most likely behind the dash.

Are the turn signal relay and the hazard relay in a 1989 Lincoln Town Car without tow package different parts? The hazard relay is mounted on the fuse panel and it ticks when the hazards are turned on, but...

you should have two of the same part, one for the hazards, one for the turn signals
turn the signal lights on wither direction and listen for the sound follow it and you will find it.
If not look in three places two in the fuse box or aroung the general area,up on top of the steering colunmn and behind the glove box, sometimes you have to remove the inside glove box and it can be to the left of the hole,if you dont see it look harder and put your hand brhind the dash to feel for it,it sounds crazy I know.
