It means that your cars computer is seeing a problem with something somewhere. Bring your cherokee to a shop and have them scan it. They can then tell you where the problem is.
Yes, there is still a problem of some kind. Go to a major auto parts store (AutoZone, Checker, etc), they will read the code from the computer and give you an idea of what the problem is. If the light was on when you took the vehicle in for service, they should have done this. If not, I don't think I'd go back there. On the other hand, if it came on after you picked it up, that is different.
have truck scanned for trouble code most auto stores such as auto zone/ advanced auto do it for free code gives u start point as to knock which is where code is coming from most knock noise is lower engine problems rod knock-wrist pin -main bearing going
Hi:
There are hundreds of things that turn on the check engine light, some are simple, like the gas cap loose, others are more complicated. A good thing to try is to stop by a local auto parts store, such as Auto zone, and most will scan your code for free and tell you what possibly caused the light. This way you can know for sure !
WELL I WOULD FIND OUT WHAT THE CODE IS AND THAT MAY LEED YOU TO WHAT IS WRONG WITH JEEP I THINK YOU CAN GO TO AUTO ZONE AND THEY WILL READ CODE FOR FREE IF IT IS SMALL EVAP LEAK YOU COULD TRY GAS CAP BUT IF IT IS ANY OTHER CODE ITS NOT GAS CAP
Actually, just go to your local auto parts store and check the codes for free. If you go to a dealer, look forward to shelling out a minimum of $75 dollars. Most of the time its a oxygen sensor or something like that.
u need to see the dealer on this.
