Bought this truck intake manifold was off put it back together tried to start it and I get no fuel pump and I get no spark but it turns over
The first model Dakota was 1987, and I don't think it had a crankshaft position sensor. It did have an ECM and a distributor pickup coil (sometimes called a camshaft position sensor).

if truck has a ceramic ballist resistor near and connected to coil this could be problem or the crk posistion sensor could be too, i would change ballast first if you have on your truck appx cost $10
SOURCE: cranks but won't start, new fuel pump,no power going to pump
look at inerata reset switch check for power at the switch

check your catalytic converter for clogged up.
disconnect the exhaust pipe before the cat and run the engine to see if it still cut off.
