Where is the speed sensor at on a 1993 jeep grand cherokee

On 1993 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4WD 5.2L MFI 8cyl the Vehicle Speed Sensor - is located in Transmission / Transfer case extension housing (tail section), near where the drive shaft attaches to the transmission. The sensor has three wires (white / black, black / light blue and white / orange).

Hope this helps; also keep in mind that your feedback is important and I'll appreciate your time and consideration if you leave some testimonial comment about this answer.

Thank you for using Fixya, and have a nice day.

It is located behind the starter motor. It is secured by one bolt and has a wiring harness. First remove the two bolts that secure the starter motor to the transmission bell housing. Move it out of the way to access the crank positioning sensor

I need to know where is the craftshaft sensor for 2000 grand cherokee larado

It's located near the transmission and engine, where they meet. Under the vehicle, driverside. It;s easy to replace and takes like 5 min. Your Jeep must be cutting off. If you can't find it let me know, and I have a manual on the Jeep, I will scan the picture and info, and send it to you through here or e-mail.

2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee won't shift out of first gear and the fault codes are P0733 and P0734.

P0733=Gear 3 Incorrect Ratio
P0734=Gear 4 Incorrect Ratio,
your transmission is in "limp" mode,
Have the following sensors checked on the transmission,input sensor,output sensor,and speed sensor.
The transmission is not getting a signal from one of them,So it doesn't know how fast your going so it doesn't up shift.

Where is the speed sensor located on a 2000 jeep Grand cherokee v6 4.0 L?

Since you have the die hard, can not kill 4.0, I believe this mated with the 42RE transmission. My understanding It use's a single sensor (located on the overdrive gear case, over the park gear).The 42RE transmissions use a single sensor (located on the overdrive gear case, over the park gear). The 42RE transmissions use a single sensor (located on the overdrive gear case, over the park gear).

I have a 1997 Jeep Grand cherokee with code 1762

1762 has to do with too high or too low voltage from the governor pressure solenoid valve in the transmission.
To test this code accurately, you would need to have Chrysler connect their scan tool to it. With that, they can check the whole system.
The governor pressure sensor measures output pressure of the governor pressure solenoid valve. It is located in the governor body on the valve body transfer plate.
It is not very difficult to replace, 83248769.gif
