SOURCE: radio problem toyota yaris 2000 model
this is usually caused by a defective antenna ground or a disconnected antenna lead at the back of the radio
SOURCE: fm radio in my car stopped working
A FEW THINGS U CAN CHECK OUT ,OF COURSE MAKE SURE THE RADIO FUSE IS GOOD! IF SO MAKE SURE THE RADIO OR ITS POWER CABLE HAVEN'T LOST THEIR GROUND, IF THESE CHECK OUT OK, THEN ITS A INTERNAL PROBLEM! AND MY SUGGESTION IS TO JUST REPLACE IT WITH A NEW ONE,RADIOS ARE SO INEXPENSIVE NOW U CAN MOST LIKELY STEP UP TO A BETTER ONE THEN THE STOCK ONE. GOOD LUCK TO YOU.

If the antenna is on the front, pop the hood, and locate where the antenna wire connects to the bottom of the antenna and make sure it is connected well. If everything checks out there, you will have to pull the radio from the dash, and look at the back of it. There will be a large black wire by itself connected to the radio. Push it in to make sure its connected as well. That could really be your only problem unless your radio happens to have a fault on the inside which is extremely rare. Hope that helps

do you get any stations, even weak stations on the AM band? If not you have a bad radio and need replacement. Try having someone hold the antenna as you scan the AM band.
