I got a 2010 f-450 super duty 6.4 diesel towing wrecker is the a reverse light switch ? if it does where is it located on the transmission ?

Hello. Yes, I am sure there is a 'back up' lamp circuit on your truck. You didn't specify if your truck has a manual or automatic transmission. If your truck has an automatic transmission, then the 'neutral safety switch' has to be replaced; assuming the back up lamps are good. Yes, modern automatic transmission vehicles, usually, have the neutral safety switch on the side of their transmissions. Most modern manual transmission vehicles neutral safety switch are either under the 'shifter assembly' or on top of their transmission. Good luck and keep me informed; if you want to.

Can you tell me the location of my neutral safety switch on my 2008 Ford F2 50 super duty super cab 5.4 L engine automatic transmission

It's not called neutral safety switch .
Transmission Range (TR) Position Sensor Assembly
The transmission range (TR) position sensor assembly is an internally mounted sensor that includes the detent spring, rooster comb and bracket, located next to the solenoid body. The components of the TR position sensor are factory adjusted to each other and the sensor must be installed as a calibrated assembly. The TR position sensor contains electronic circuitry that provides the PCM a fixed frequency at a duty cycle for each of the various positions of the manual lever (PARK, REVERSE, NEUTRAL, DRIVE, M3, M2 and M1) to the PCM. The PCM uses the TR position sensor signal for engine functions (start, reverse lamps) and for line pressure control, shift scheduling and TCC operation.

Your best bet , take your vehicle to a qualified repair shop or Dealer .

Diagnosing an electronically controlled automatic transmission is simplified by using the following procedures. One of the most important things to remember is that there is a definite procedure to follow. DO NOT TAKE SHORT CUTS OR ASSUME THAT CRITICAL CHECKS OR ADJUSTMENTS HAVE ALREADY BEEN MADE. Follow the procedures as written to avoid missing critical components or steps. By following the diagnostic sequence, the technician will be able to diagnose and repair the concern the first time.
On-Board Diagnostics with Scan Tool
NOTE: For detailed instruction and other diagnostic methods using the scan tool, refer to the tester manual and the Powertrain Control/Emissions Diagnosis (PC/ED) manual.
These quick tests should be used to diagnose the PCM and should be carried out in order.
  • Quick Test 1.0-Visual Inspection
  • Quick Test 2.0-Set Up
  • Quick Test 3.0-Key On, Engine Off
  • Quick Test 4.0-Continuous Memory
  • Quick Test 5.0-Key On, Engine Running
  • Special Test Mode
    • Wiggle Test
    • Output Test Mode
  • PCM Reset Mode
  • Clearing DTCs
  • OBD II Drive Cycle
  • For further information on other diagnostic testing features using the scan tool, refer to the Powertrain Control/Emissions Diagnosis (PC/ED) manual. Other diagnostic methods include the following.
    • Parameter Identification (PID) Access Mode
    • Freeze Frame Data Access Mode
    • Oxygen Sensor Monitor Mode
    • P0706 TR Sensor TR sensor frequency fault detected. TR sensor signal frequency is out of normal range. Only REVERSE, NEUTRAL and 5th gear detected. Engine may not crank. For gasoline engine vehicles, Go To Pinpoint Test C . For diesel engine vehicles, Go To Pinpoint Test H . P0707 TR Sensor TR sensor circuit duty cycle low input. TR sensor signal duty cycle is below threshold, sensor/circuit electrical malfunction. Only REVERSE, NEUTRAL and 5th gear detected. Engine may not crank. For gasoline engine vehicles, Go To Pinpoint Test C . For diesel engine vehicles, Go To Pinpoint Test H .

01 f350 just clicks

Sounds like a bad transmission range selector (automatic) or a park/neutral switch (manual)

Have trouble finding park or nuetral gear with shifter on coloum in order to start engine.

It sounds like your safety neutral switch. Put the truck in park and pull the shifter towards you and try to start it. That usually engages the neutral switch. You will need the switch replaced

Where is the neutral safety switch on a 2003 -f350 will not start and does not sift out of gear

The neutral safety switch is located on the drivers side of the transmission where the shifter cable connects to it. Have you tried starting it in neutral?

My truck wont turn over. i have changed the battery and put a new starter in. it gets pleanty of power in tho on position but its not turning over

Check the exciter wire to the starter (smallest wire) , if no power then check the solenoid on the inner fender in the engine bay. Also try starting it in neutral as it could possibly be the switch that tells it when the transmission is in gear or park/neutral.
