You're going to be looking at a hub and bearing assembly, which is the easy job. Remove the brake caliper and pull the rotor off. Disconnect the abs sensor, if applicable. Disconnect the outer tie rod and seperate. Remove the axle nut (may have to go to the parts store to get this size socket, usually 28mm-32mm). Seperate the axle from the knuckle by hitting with a soft hammer, don't ding the splines!! remove the upper ball joint and seperate. Remove the bolts in the back of the knuckle. To seperate the bearing from the knuckle may require a bit of elbow grease, a hammer, maybe a chisel, an air hammer if available.

Basics are, remove the caliper and rotor, remove axle center nut, unbolt bearing hub and remove (often a bit rusted in). Reverse process and drive.

How to replace front bearings

I'm afraid that I will have to give you the same advice. The VW manual states that the wheel bearings are pressed into and out of the wheel bearing hub assembly, and to do this you need to have access to a shop press and the properly sized sleeves for pressing the bearing seats out of the wheel bearing hub.

I JUST NEED TO KNOW WHAT IS INVOLVED IN REPLACING THE FRONT WHEEL HUBS ON A 2005 MUSTANG THE FRONT RIGHT IS STARTING TO GRIND PRETTY BAD WHEN I MAKE RIGHT TURNS.

looks like they have a sealed bearing and are sold as a bearing hub assy for about $140. to replace it remove the wheel, then the cotter pin and nut in the center of the hub. then pull the hub/bearing off. this is easier said than done but with penetrating oil, hard work, and a large hammer you should be able to remove it.

Change front wheel bearings

u will need to remove the brake cailper and the the brake rotor, then the hub retaining nut, that is a large metric nut, the bearing and hub must come off, then u will need to take this hub to a machine shop or the dealer and have the new bearing pressed in.

Replace front wheel bearings

The bearings in your car are pressed into a hub. If the part is available as an assembly, it can be replaced that way. Generally on a front drive car:
Remove wheels and brake calipers
If it is pressed in: remove the rotors, disconnect the drive shafts and remove the steering knuckle. Then the old bearing is pressed out and the new one pressed in with a machine shop press. If the bearing is part of the hub, that will be unbolted and the new one swapped.

On a scale of 1-10 difficulty, Id rate it a strong 7
