SOURCE: I need to find out where the shift solenoid is located on the tra

I've been having this problem with this car for a while. This is the third time which I needed to change the damn solenoid in 3 years. You need to take the whole air filter off,you have in the front two screws, and two more just to loose the clamps. You need to pull the whole thing out, once you take it out,you should be able to see it under two black hoses,it has 3 screws into it,it's very easy to take off and replace, about 2 hours total. No more domestic cars for me for as long as I live!Good luck!

SOURCE: 2000 Honda Accord Check Engine light on p0740

YOU HAVE A TORQUE CONVERTER PROBLEM. TORQUE CONVERTER CONTROL CIRCUIT MALFUNCTION CODES CAN COME FROM ELECTRICLE TO INTERNAL MALFUNCTION. IF YOU START EXPERIENCING A HARD SHIFT OR FREE SPIN TO HARD SHIFT DON'T BE SURPRISED. TRY CHANGING FLUID. THIS MAY HELP. HONDA WOULD HAVE REPLACED TRANS IF UNDER 105 k FOR FREE. IF YOU HAVE TO REPLACE TRANS. BUY ONE FROM HONDA, 3 YR WARRANTY AND AS CHEAP AS A REBUILT TRANS. HAVE A QUALIFIED PERSON INSTALL, YOU WILL SAVE ABOUT $500 DOING IT THIS WAY. GOOD LUCK

SOURCE: check engine reads P0740 honda civic

I am sorry to bum you guys out, but this usually means the piston in the torque converter is bad. The converter needs to be replaced along with a transmission flush.

A diagram for a 2000 Dodge 2.4 caravan po743 code on

23 year old , and lots of problems and this one is hard
p0 =USA federal codes
p07 means transmission errors
743 is TCC FAILURE
TCC MEANS TORQUE CONVERTER LOCK UP FAILURES.
THE PCM /TCm, DETECTS THIS AS FAILURE OF VSS SENSOR SPEED NOT DROPPING THE CORRECT RPM
IT MEANS THE THE CLUTCH IS DEAD..
the path is complex (deep in the tranny onion layers)
tcm to solenoid wire, then hydraulic solenoid valve sends high pressure to the TC locker, and the TC locks
so any point in my serial path above can fail!! and do often.
the tests are in the service manual ,I will not post them .

P0740 Torque Converter Clutch Circuit Malfunction Driving the vehicle with this problem and not attending to it asap may cause further damage. When you feel a problem and or see the engine light on, use your head wisely and have a reputable transmission shop go through a complete diagnostic procedure, in most cases this is a fluid problem, but since you serviced the trans that can be ruled out, if you haven't changed the TCC solenoid yet do so, I was unclear about what you replaced, I assume the shift solenoid's, if you have replaced the TCC solenoid then the problem is either in the wiring to the trans or inside the trans in the torque converter clutch circuit or the torque converter itself, which is a all to common failure in these Vans, if the TCC is ok replace the torque converter, that of course requires removing the trans, this job will require a lift, it is just about impossible on the ground.

Code p0753 for a dodge ram 2500 360 m

Both fault codes refer at Tnasmission problem...

P0743 - Torque Converter Circuit Electrical
This DTC appears when an open or shorted condition is detected in the TCC (Torque Converter Clutch) solenoid control circuit; check this as possible causes:
- fused ignition switch output circuit open
- torque converter clutch solenoid defective
- TCC solenoid circuit w/h intermittent defect
- TCCsolenoid circuit w/h observable defect
- TCC solenoid control circuit open
- TCC solenoid control circuit short to ground
- PCM defective (TCC solenoid control circuit)

You will need remove the cover/pan to inspect the harness that goes to all the solonoids and then to inspect the valvebody and the TCC solonoid itself. If you have a multimeter then you could ohm through the harness and even the solonoid. I have found that most of the time this code was produced because of the solonoid itself. But it could be the circuits to it also. There is abig connector an top of the trans that goes into the trans and the internal harness ispect that connector for any corrosion or damaged pins or wires.

P0753 - Shift Solenoid A Electrical Malfunction
This is a common repair that I have replaced several of the solenoid but it is not a cronic problem. It be the wire going to the solenoid shorted so make sure that is check before the transmission is tilted down and the side cover removed. 90% it is just the solenoid; the solenoid is located in the side pan of the tranmission. It would mean lowering the cradle(what the engine and transmission sit on) and lowering the transmission down about one to two feet. Check this like a possible cause:
- 1-2 shift solenoid control circuit is open or shorted to ground
- 1-2 shift solenoid control circuit is shorted to voltage
- 1-2 shift solenoid has failed
- PCM has failed

You will need to remove the transmission pan and its the solenoid with the red and light green wires going to it. Let us know if you have questions contact us here.

Hope this helps and just keep in mind that your feedback is important and I'll appreciate your time and consideration if you leave some testimonial comment about this answer. Thank you for using FixYa.

Jose.

Dashboard message - service engine soon ?? my local service station said it said - torque converter

That is located in the transmission and can be very expensive to repair/replace - Do NOT take to Amco! Did he also tell you the exact electronic code? Uusally, the code will say more than just torque converter.

Have you noticed any hesitation when you are starting to move; in reverse on on a hill - any noticeable slipping?

Check engine light code tcc 740

A tcc 740 is a code for a torque converter clutch problem. This is either the torque converter itself or the control part of the TCC system. dodge's have an issue with transmissions of this generation and in most cases when the code 740 sets, the transmission will need to be replaced.-------
This will help. Thanks please keep updated.please please do rate the solution positively .thank you for using fixya

Transmission light cod P0740

PO740 is a TCC/lockup code.TCC stands for Torque Convertor Clutch. In between the engine and transmission is a torque convertor.Inside the torque convertor is a clutch. This clutch engages to eliminate slippage inside the torque convertor. When a malfunction occurs in the system, which is activated by solenoids, and a computer,a TCC code will set. There is a diagnostic route specifically for that code,to determine if the malfunction is electrical, mechanical,or hydraulic.
