I have a 2006 hyundai sonata and I was driving home yesterday, the ESC light and the check engine light came on. I could not drive over 20 miles an hour. I was low on oil and I put a quart in there and the ESC light went off, but the check engine light is still on, but the car drives fine and I can drive over 20 miles an hour now. Could there be something else wrong?

esc light is Electronic stability control (ESC) for braking . My ESC light has been on off since I had it for 1 year. and I have had it in the mechanic worked on my car for different things since I have had it. But he said it is okay. But it can't be turned on either with the button.
But I will never buy another Hyundai again.

Yes you do need to have the oil and filter changed ,but as for the check engine light my first sugjestion is to go to your local advance auto parts store and have the do a check on your comouter ,this is free ,they will tell you what is wrong ,as this could only need a re set to clear uot the code hope this helps .

My 2006 Hyundai Sonata ESC continues to malfunction no matter what I try.

It's possible that the front suspension replacement could have contributed to the ESC malfunction. The ESC system relies on input from various sensors to determine the behavior of the vehicle, including sensors related to the suspension and steering. If these sensors are not functioning correctly or providing incorrect information, it can trigger the ESC and check engine lights to come on.
In this case, I would recommend having a professional mechanic perform a thorough diagnostic to determine the root cause of the issue. They may need to check the wiring and connections related to the front suspension and any sensors involved in the ESC system.
If the problem persists even after a thorough diagnostic, it may be worth reaching out to Hyundai customer service to see if there is any other potential solution for your particular vehicle. It's possible that there is a known issue with the 2006 Sonata that is not covered by the recall but can still be addressed by the manufacturer.

Car will not go faster than 15 mph esc &engine light is on?

Do not drive your car if you can help it. You could damage your engine further. Get a diagnostic check done on it asap.

2006 Hyundai Sonata GLS 3.3 Check Engine and ESC light comes on; vehicle "stalls" and doesn't want to accelerate. Intermittent

You have more than one issue/problem going on. Stop Lamp switch is the most common occurance with ESC. The other is the TPS, throttle position sensor (voltage correlation).

Have a qualified Hyundai Service Technician properly diagnose your vehicle.

Check eng. and ESC lights on. No excelleration.

My car is having the same problem, and I've heard it's a defective stop lamp switch, which there is a recall on, and the dealer will fix for free. The recall ID# 09V122000 number to call listed with recall info #1-800-633-5151 http://www.automotive.com/hyundai/sonata/2006/recalls/t3-12-2-1/

Check engine light and ESC light stays on, no driving power

For some reason, the ESC system "thinks" the drive wheels are slipping and it is trying to prevent the tires from spinning.
Take the car to your local Auto Zone and ask them to scan the car for trouble codes, they will do the scan for free. Write the codes down and respond back to this post and we can start to diagnose the problem.
Good luck and let me know.

Check Engine light and ESC OFF light

I had an issue where the ABS and ESC lights would go on and wouldn't turn off unless I restarted the car (sometimes they would light up again even if I had restarted). This was because the speed sensor was broken on my back tire. After the dealership replaced it, (under the 36,000 mile warranty) all was good and I have yet to see the lights come back on.

Summary:
Issue: ABS & ESC would not turn off
Solution: Replaced broken speed sensor on tire
