First of all, most people use meat when barbecuing. ?? On the serious note, you will have to replace key. I know that’s not what you want to hear. You’ll have to go to dealer for replacement.
The fob is toast no pun intended. The key has a code that the car ecm has to recognize. Have new key made. Look up the coding protocol for a new key. It should be on line. You can order fob or you call remote on line. They are not cheap.
Simply take your registration(from DMV proving it’s your vehicle) to the parts department of the local KIA Dealer, they’ll make you a new one and most likely won’t charge you, if they do it’ll only be a few bucks at most.

SOURCE: 2005 Kia amanti ignition key wont turn?
You may have a broken ignition tumbler, or is your steering wheel turned all the way to one side? If so, apply pressure on the steering wheel in the same direction that your tires are already turned, at the same time try turning your key forward. Your steering wheel lock may be denying you to turn your key. hope this helps
SOURCE: key wont turn in ignition.
The problem can only be one of three things. Steering column, ignition or key. When there is tension on the steering wheel it will prevent the key from turning. If the linkage in your ignition is bad it will prevent it from turning. If your key looks worn or marred (it doesn't always have to be bent) it wont turn.

Make sure your steering wheel isn't locked. Sometimes a key won't turn until you jiggle the wheel while trying to turn the key.
